Hey can i get advice?

so i may be coming in to $$.... *gets starry eyes* and i want to get a drawing tablet of SOME SORT. but my question is What's good out there? I'm totally out of the loop on this sort of thing and so is my Electrical guru of a dad so... Help drawing guru friends?
Personally, though...I got a "Vistablet" (I'd never heard of it either). But for not having an on-pad display like said expensive-ass Wacoms, I couldn't be happier with it.
