The Cove

I saw it. It was very good. To be honest, I was afraid to watch it at first. I though it would be very hard to watch, but it was exciting and most of it was kind of fun. There are some uncomfortable scenes of course, especially near the end. I'd imagine it would be more shocking to someone who didn't have any idea what was going on in Japan. It's about an ex-dolphin trainer and a group of really awesome people trying to expose the brutal slaughter in a hidden cove. I think everyone should see this movie, even you! Even if you don't love dolphins as much as I do or don't even like them much at all, it's an important film. My highschool friend saw it and for the first time since I've known him, I could talk to him about dolphins without being made fun of.
FA+

I really need to see it, I'm surprised that I haven't yet, honestly. All of the previews make it look super rough.
Yeah, I was procrastinating on watching it too. But it came in the mail after I donated to the Earth Island Institute. I didn't expect to get anything. A lot of the movie is about how the Japanese government and fisheries agency has been lying to the world as well as their own citizens. In one interview they said most dolphin deaths are instantaneous. When they showed him the footage they took with hidden cameras he had a look on his face like. "Oh, shit!"
It is the stewardship of mankind that leads to successful species development and survival of not ourselves but the world as a whole.
You are a good steward. I am sorry that your friends made fun of you for it.
I try to do what I can. Sometimes I feel like I'm not doing enough. And they aren't really my friends anymore.
(And hmm, don't we always get made fun of for expressing the things that make us who we are?)
I don't mind getting a hard time for staying sober. I just couldn't have an intelligent conversation about something that meant a lot to me. My point was that if it could open his eyes, then there is a hope that more people will.
