Think the of most high-drama, hot-blooded mecha show you've seen. Probably G-Gundam, GaoGaiGar, etc. This is that times one thousand.

The very basic plot. sans-spoilers. is that a group of humans are fighting back against the "Beastmen" that live on the surface of the earth (Humans live underground), who use mecha called Ganmen. It centers around a young boy named Simon and his "Blood brother" Kamina (at first, the cast continues to grow) as they fight back.

The interesting thing is, you know how in Hot-blooded anime when the protagonist gets backed into a corner or pissed off, they can pull off amazing things? The mechs actually RUN on that energy in this, and VERY directly increase in power the more GAR their pilot is.

Two words... Cowboy Bebop...
Just got the whole series for the first time (tho I'd seen every episode umpteen hundred tiems) last week, already sat and watched it all X3
