Happy Birthday Sonic!
June 23rd, 1991 was the day the video game Sonic the Hedgehog on the Megadrive/Genesis was released in the US and Europe; therefore, today marks the 19th Anniversary of Sonic!
In Japan however, it was released in June 26th.

First 4 Figures, the makers of the 12 inch Classic Sonic and the classic Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles mini figurines, have just announced a full 15 inch Classic Super Sonic statue ready for pre-orders! There's even an exclusive version where the base actually lights up!

US Sonic the Hedgehog Convention???
Believe it or not, there's an actual Sonic convention here in the US, located in the state of Texas, called DFW Hedgehog Show and SoniCon 2010.
