FA+

How about draw yourself a refrence sheet.
Well... I'm just thinking that it will be nice to have a digital sketchpad on the go :3
what's your new character of? ^^;
But here it comes down to a choice between that and a tablet PC, doesn't it? What better suits your needs?

So... it's not really the best to get an Ipad eh? 0w0;;
XD haha... bad joke X3
*gives ya your joystick* XD
They do have a few downsides you wanna consider though, i.e. lack of useful ports, programs can only be downloaded from the app store, etc. Also the cost factor - like if you're just gonna use it to doodle on, might wanna consider if its worth it against buying a top of the line drawing tablet and a neat program instead.
Not trying to persuade you either way, I have one and love it to bits, just make sure it's what you really want before spending that much moolah. x3
Well... kinda have the $ at the moment XD but just wondering if I shall get a Macbook pro or just a Ipad for on the go sketching X3
Lack of useful ports, eh? But there's always those camera jacks thingy... right?
Downloaded programs... that can be solved too X3 kinda~ lol
And think some reviews said that it lags... maybe Sketchbook pro is too much for the processor for the Ipad... or they just want the Ipad to do more than it suppose to! lol
Kinda got an Intous 3 at the moment :3 so that will be enough as a tablet! But just think that Ipad can be really fun... and economic for a digital sketchpad.... since I sketch a lot XD and it might help to save some trees? lol
Well... roomie is getting one... so might just... yoink that! X3
iWork is like Apples version of Microsoft Office. They made an iPad version which is pretty epic for me - was one of the main reasons I decided to get it (as asides Xcode thats the only suite I get productive with).
As tempting as a laptop can be, for on the go sketching even though laptops can just be whipped out and booted up an iPad probably trashes it in that regard - for a laptop you'd need to boot it up, log in, load the program, connect your tablet and then get going. For the pad you just wake it up and there you go. x3
Also for portabilities sake if you're gonna be out and about with it alot, i.e. commuting to school/work etc, iPad might win again as it's around the quarter the weight - although sacrificing some power for that could be an issue (tbh I've not noticed mine slow down, but I can imagine a very complex image needing more power than it offers).
The only ports the iPad offers is a headphone jack and the dock connector. Apple and 3rd parties are making various dock to <connector> peripherals however (I have one to connect it to a display for presentations). If you're worried you can't transfer files due to lack of USB, when you dock it with iTunes there's a section for file transfers if the app supports it. You can also email yourself the files if need be.
Sorry for the wall of text, but I hope I helped somewhat. XD' If you're after more info gimmie a shout.
I see... so you can do word processing on that too, eh? Think it will be really nice with that Keyboard dock too! :3 Guess they can now replace the net book thingy XD and more light weight too!
And roomie just showed me how fast a Ipod touch can be turned on and off XD (ok~ why does that sound kinda funny!? lol) Well... it's not like I'm gonna be drawing Mona Lisa on the Ipad X3
It will be mainly for sketching purposes :3 so that will suffice!
Well... there's always that camera dock thingy with USB right?
It's been really helpful though :3
Ya really give me some insight into whether to get this or not X3
Guess I just have to wait till roomie's Ipad arrives!
Yup! Word processing, spreadsheets and presentations are iWorks business. You can make them then sync them back to your mac to work on, or export into Microsoft Office formats or PDF for other reasons. :3 Some functionality is missing however, mostly little things but custom saved styles being a biggy. If you just do word processing you won't notice much gone.
Ooh la la, turning an iPod on? ;D *hit* But it does turn on that fast from sleep, its nice to just get to work with no delays. It boots fairly quickly when you power it down too, but it uses such little power when asleep you may as well just put it to sleep when you aint using it (mines been on for about a week with regular on/off usage, still at 73% charge).
Have fun messing with your roomies. X3
Guess iWork just made the Ipad even more useful, eh? X3 Guess there's always story writing on the go too! (but is not a story writer at all XD)
Yesss~ TURN DA IPAD ON!!! XD Yup... *wait for his laptop to start up* ._. that is kinda upsetting to have to wait! lol
And the power can last that long? that's really awesome! With or without the wifi?
Oh yeah... have ya got the 3G version? but with that little function... it's getting really really expensive now! 0w0;;
Messing with roomie's Ipad! XD
I hope they're good but I'm not gonna get one :P not enough moneys
I'm thinking of it like a cheaper version of Cintiq XD and... can do not only drawing on it lol
