wait.. they didn't know the wings were stabilizers? Ostriches must not be studied as closely as I thought.. You can see in videos of them running the way they use their wings.. And also don't forget the male's mating dance! Total wing/neck action. Sometimes I wonder about scientists...

I know - strange, isn't it? -_- There are reasons why I am not an ornithologist. The main one is that I am too fascinated by the subject matter to maintain a 'clinical' point of view. :>
