Suit or Not to Suit

I've picked out a fursuit designer: 
kodipup and his price is certainly reasonable from what limited knowledge about fursuits I have.
But the thing is I have to save a good deal of money to actually buy this suit, and all I have is my meager little retail job. And being an untalented fox I have no art skills that could help provide more income.
Despite that it is very possible for me to save up enough for not only the suit but for a decent sized budget for the next AC too, however I'm a frivolous spender and need assistance in curbing my urges to online shop...

get a more solid feel for your character before persuing a suit... unless you
really just want any suit...
i don't know much about suit making/commisioning one... but saving money
can be an overwhelming task, just avoid the things that make you spend
$5 and $10 here and there... its those purchases that really chip away at
your funds...
sometimes i ask myself " do i need this ? "
