It is useful if you are wearing dress pants, which sometimes have two buttons at the top, and a belt. It is much easier in this case. Though, when not wearing such things, I also am a fan of the pull down method.

I never really used the flap thing. I sort of new the different uses for it... but really... I think its just for the really lazy, who dun want to actually pull there boxers down. But, I sort of think of it as a scandal to get you to be embaressed. Try going up some stairs with boxers on and tell me what happens... *only works for guys* I sometimes just walk around in a shirt and boxers when I dun feel like really getting ready just yet and going downstairs to check me email on the computer. When I go back upstairs, I usually go up 2 steps and I sort of jog up the stairs, sense I hate walking up stairs. A certain something says HI!!!!! So I get irritated with the stuipid flap thing

the 'flap' in the front was installed when pants and underwear were suppose to be 'waisted' above your belly button. so both underwear and pants are anchored to the body with a belt, pulling everything down was a hassle so the 'flap' was installed to make 'access' easier.

Briefs all the way. :P I don't like boxers because I'd prefer not to have everything flapping around whenever I want to walk, and I tried boxerbriefs, but the leg parts just end up getting bunched up, turning them into briefs again. :P

It doesn't really matter though, it's not like I regularly go around in my underwear or anything. :P

I only use the flap when I need quick, personal access. Aside from that, it's almost entirely unnecessary.
