A bunch of people who I know seemed amused/bemused hearing their stuff on this station. It's news to me! However it seems to be a mix of authentic chiptunes, mod files, and hipster "8-bit" stuff, which pretty much I guess would make sense if this indeed is supposed to represent the mainstream.
Personally, I'm not sure what to think, but at least they tag and label the stuff, so in theory it should be pretty easy to get the songs if they're any good. Also, from what other people whose stuff was on this have been saying, it seems like di.fm basically just scraped free labels and places with lax licensing to be able to broadcast the stuff without having to run into copyright problems with any of the artists.
Congrats folks for breaking into a wider audience; let's hope that the good outweighs the luggage that comes with it.

But that increased exposure can bring in great talent, too. I try not to be completely elitist about it, but it's hard sometimes ¦B
Rar!
Speaking of commercials, WTF?!:

But hey another chip station to listen to that might possibly have good tunes I don't already have saved on my playlist so I don't see why it's a bad thing (at least for now)
Speaking of, let me toot my own horn and say you should totally listen to this: http://ice.blackmage.org:8000/nobuyuki.m3u
This should be good. :)
