Summer plans

So I've got a new job doing surveys over the phone, and I've been there for about a month now. After everything I've seen there so far, it's not that bad of a place to work for the summer, but I'll probably be looking for a new place to work unless I can get more hours there. Either way, I need this job until after August, because of the flexibility that I have with my hours there. Basically, I literally pick my shifts, in one month chunks. The shifts that I can pick are Monday through Friday, 1:00-4:30 and 4:30-9:00 (I can pick both if I choose), and Saturday 10:00-5:00. Well, technically, I don't pick my hours, I pick my availability, and the only shifts that they schedule you for are ones that you set up your availability for, so it's more-or-less the same.
The only real requirements when pickings shifts, is that I need to be available for 13.5 hours per week (keeping in mind that the half-hour lunch breaks are NOT paid, and therefore don't count), and you have to be available to work at least 16 hours of weekend shifts per month (Fridays and Saturdays only, since we're not open on Sundays).
I'm going to digress here only for a moment, so you can see why I really, REALLY like this set-up.
My plans for this summer are as such:
Montreal (Anthrofest): July 26-30
Edmonton furries camp-out: August 3/4-6 (Not sure whether it's starting on the third of the fourth yet)
Moncton (visiting family): August 13-17
So... why is me picking my own shifts an awesome-tastic thing? Because time-wise, everything works out, and I only have to worry about booking the time off for when I visit the folks. Everything else, I don't have to worry about, because even though the con and the camp-out are on weekends, I can just bank weekend hours during the rest of the month. ;)
So, time-wise, I cleared it with the call center, and it all works out. Now, I just have to worry about money, basically. Also, to take some of the pressure off (at least, for now), I applied for a Capitol One credit card. Specifically, I applied for the guaranteed approval one, the one meant to build your credit, if you've got no or bad credit. Also, at the latest, it should get here right in time for me to buy my plane ticket to Montreal.
So, basically, once everything is said and done... this summer is going to rock, once I'm done worrying about getting the money to make it work. ;)
