TELL ON!!! people have forgotten what this country was founded for, freedom, freedom of choice, speech and location. It's a shame that the US has so much hate crime, wether it be based on religion, race, preference, gender or politics. It is a shame that common sense and decency is not common.

The country needs a wake up call, for all races and both genders. And not the sort of wake up call that religous nuts claim it needs, the sort it needs is that wich will benefit everybody.

Yeah, I really miss the old days when I was a kid and politics was completely below my radar! Our government scares me sometimes--and the people that we end up having to put in office are the reason! Bush isn't interested in what's best for America--he's interested in what's best for Bush, his cronies, his church and his party--I don't know where the rest of us Americans show up on the list...if we do at all.

Bush is a provential lout. He's destabilized the entire Middle East, he hasn't made things better. Frankly all he's done is justify the Islamic extremists fears about the West. once again as an europeanbut still citizen of the world... as holder of a histery degree rotation between 2 parties as be the standard procedure on western type democracies... because those parties do share some distiction and also a lot of similarities... although in foreing policy i dont feel that is great diference between your two parties... (internal is something i have no data about)... but i guess that US would benefit from the inclusion on the legislature of Off power circle parties... those small parties even if they dont rule do posses the power on european parliements to launch new issues on the legislature floors, and since they are not compromissed by power they can be more honnest to their essence... probably your country democracy could be enhanced with such addition to the legislature... but that is just an outsider opinion of course.

The problem with our party system is that it has gotten to a point where you can't get anything done without your party's backing, but the parties aren't interested in anything but furthering specific agendas and ideologies. Every time a third party tries to crop up, it just undercuts one or the other of the main parties and gets the other guys elected.

Our legislators are riddled with private interest lobbyists and back-room dealings to the point where no American feels they can actually trust any elected official. Period. And if we can't trust them, they can't govern us because we constantly question and undermine them, but if we don't their corruptions have no checks and balances.

i guess democracies have become indanger... the legislatures are populated by the worse of the worse... parasites of the sistem...well at least that is in my country where a Member of parliement only wants to remain a member of parliement even if most of the laws come pre cooked from EU...
in your country case... again as an outsider maybe a reform on the system could be in order... germain type... on one hand you would keep the one person constituencies... but allowing listthat would be ellected by proportional (hondt) method would allow the entrance of the small parties...
there is no bigger enemy for a democracy that parasites and the indiference of the people... that will allow the rise to power of the dictator oportunists...

Take a look at independant candidates. The more you start voting for anyone other than democrats and republicans, the more light is shed on alternative candidates.

What far fewer people know is that his Medicare Part D has created a future unfunded deficit with a present value of about 50 trillion (not billion) dollars. The present value of the Social Security unfunded deficit is about 7 trillion in comparison. The total value of all private property (including corporate) in the US is about 40 trillion. You and I and everybody working for a living that isn't politically favored are going to be forced to pay that off at the point of a tax collectors gun. With the stroke if his pen, Bush II stole more than the entire value of all private property in the US. But it got him elected (barely) for one more term, so it was a good deal - for Bush II.

In addition to being an enthusiastic destroyer of the First Amendment, she has done her best to trash the Second Amendment, as well. She will not leave you alone. She will raise the percentage of time that you and I are a slave to the Feds - just like Obama, McCain, and the rest of the creeps. Ron Paul would be very different, but he has zero chance.
