Work out

So I've started working out to get all buff n stuff. I know I'm sort of late for the summer beach season, but better late then never. I'm not over weight or anything. I weigh 160/165 lbs on average which is better then I was in high school (125 lbs back then). Mostly, I'm working out to A: keep in a decent state of health and B: look all sexy. I don't have a lot of body issues other then it bothered me that my arms where just tubes of meat with no form... that and I look sort of geeky. I guess that comes with the job though. ^_^
I'm not looking to get huge. I've seen the documentaries with professional body builders and man... I can't imagine looking like that. I just want to have enough muscle to look sexy with my shirt off when I'm at the beach or a pool. Things are coming along nicely too I think. I have an Aerobic Glider and a weight system here at home and I alternate between the two each day and my work outs last about 20 - 30 min.
Anyone out there work out or have any tips? Are you in shape or out of shape?

Sounds like you have a good plan here. The only other thing I can think of here would be to get a good protein intake, as it helps build muscle as well (especially right after your workout; it helps rebuild your muscle fibers that are damaged during the exercise). Fish, turkey, and eggs are excellent sources (my preference, at least )
When I'm not busy recovering from horribly maiming myself, I usually stay fit with cycling and free weights.
But that was for fat burning muscle building.
Also you see folks that max their weights and do reps quickly.
I was trained to do the lift quickly and when bringing the weight down to do it slowly,
and between sets take no mare than 30 seconds to recover before starting the next.
Upper body 2 times a week lower three.
But everyone's different.
Good luck!
You may find building muscle not as easy as bringing the fat ratio down.
So fast heavy reps for muscle, lower weights more reps for definition.
...duh what I just say.....
Really? I had no idea that's how it works. o_O
Bigger the muscle more time to recover.
But yeah, if you're looking for a good workout to get you started, I can help out. Anything to aid somebody taking an interest in personal health.
I'm back onto it. 4 hours of martialarts, and a personal training session each week.
If i can gets the money, i'll up it to two.
But the personal trailer (who i've known for years) keeps me very active.
