Its because of superstition. 13 is seen as a unlucky number (Friday the 13th), most skyscrapers or building exclude floor 13, same thing with room 666, that number is usually skipped. There's even some really old building that have floor 10 and 13 removed because both where seen as unlucky numbers in the 50 and 60s I believe.
I remember an old horror movie where there was a floor 13, and some kind of killings went on on that floor. the elevator would skip it, unless the 12 key was turned upside down.
also, another idea, is that it's possible that floor 13 on that particular building is not accessible to the general public, and another elevator is used to go to it. But, either way, that's a pretty cool video and I can't wait to try it out :)
well, there is a slight pause actually, if you watch it closely as the numbers change when it descends, it takes just a tiny bit longer for it to go from 14 to 12, than it did from 15 to 14.
I want to own an entire floor in an office building, and run go-karts and parties, so the people above and below always blame the other for the "Phantom noise".
Elevator requires an easter egg to get to my floor.
