Lift Hard.
screw the multiplayer i was only ever interested in the story and custom maps... but anyway
if you beat it i'd like to see what you think about the end of the game...
i felt it was kinda empty... but that could of course come from the fact that its a the first game
in a trilogy and the story isnt fully completed... but i dunno for some reason i just
found the end to be kinda "meh"
i also didnt feel there were that many missions to the story mode and most of the time
was spent watching cutscenes and talking to crew members aboard the hyperion...
i mean the hanson side missions only totaled to like 3 or 4.... for comparison sake
warcraft 3 had 38 missions original sc had 29 or 30 and sc2 has 26 and probably 9 were
completly optional... but ill point out the good point of offering options during missions and
seeing them play out.
the cutscenes were top notch even if the dialogue was a little cliched here and there
to summarize i enjoyed the story up till the end, the gameplay was lacking in quantity though
what was there for gameplay was fun.

and found custom maps much more enjoyable.. so ill wait for people to make more of those
I only want the game for the map maker xD
they want to squeeze as much money from every sucker, anyway, I will only buy the first and go CAPTAIN MORGAN on the rest :P
Mmkay...
So you choose Valve? Interesting. I think Valve games are good, but I only played with Portal...and it rocked! It was simple, original, and highly entertaining! Not much of the re-play value in a short time, and deffinatly not a money-milker, but it was the best game in the year it came out! I can't wait for Portal 2!
So I fully support your oppinion there...even if I love(d) Blizzard games.
I don't particularly like Valve games. I loved Half-Life, didn't like Half-Life 2, or Episode 1, but Episode 2 was nice at the end. Don't like CS:S, Portal was great but has zero replay, and TF2 is actually pretty good. L4D is awesome, but L4D2 isn't as good so I don't like it. Honestly Blizzard has a way better good games:bad games ratio at like 7:1, but Valve as a company is better.
Personally my friends and I have been playing through Diablo 2 again lately, but thanks to random shit happening (2 dead computers) and vacations, in over a month we're not even halfway through act 3.
So if you say, that the ending here s*cks as well, then i'm looking more forward to the gameplay. I hope the experience of going to spacewar will be satisfactory!
i do agree that blizzard has been on a steady decline since the First WoW expansion... Though, i did not know they merged with activision, which somewhat explains the "patronizing the player" feeling i've been getting on WoW since Wrath came out. (Not going to get into the whole "RealID/Facebook integration" trainwreck here...) but i think Blizzard's main concern has shifted to making money and fame, and they're not focusing on what their players are after... I played EVE for a while and i remember times when at least once a month i'd log in and get a survey: "has your gaming experience gotten better or worse? what woudl you like to see in any upcoming changes?" i know that they probably don't read -every- survey personally... but it's nice to be able to give feedback without having to rifle through 150 billion development forum posts just to find a thread with an idea that you like and go "Yes i support this change!"... only to be ignored on it because the Roleplaying community on WoW isn't the major playerbase.
i think Blizzard could do better... but they're not beyond All hope for redemption... *Cough*SquareEnix*Cough*
