Warning, it's a rant journal, because a certain company pissed me off for the last time. if you don't enjoy a good rant, leave.
You know Netflix, that company that sends dvd's in your mail or streaming...I just had enough of their bullshit.
I had them for about 1 and 1/2 years or so, and this now, is my breaking point with them. I usually rent out series, and other miscellaneous movies from them in the mail, because due to satellite internet, I can't watch streaming content. (yes, I live in the country, and no, i tried to get cable or dsl out here, and both companies were bastards to me...)
So, I tried to get a series that came out 2 months ago, and when i added it to my queue, it said now available, so i put it as #1....so, I go the next day, its still on my queue, saying "now available" but i scratch my head saying "why didn't they ship it out?" well, the next day i check..."VERY LONG WAIT" was on the first disc, so i got a bit ticked but wasn't upset, so i deleted it, thinking "well, disc 2 and 3 are available, i will get those instead", wait a day, still saying "now available" but they haven't shipped out...i started to get a bit unhappy, so i waited another day, and lo and behold "VERY LONG WAIT" on disc 2 and disc 3. I get pissed, because I listed them on my top of my queue, and yet, they haven't sent anything to me in weeks.
I went ahead and added stuff that i know is coming out in August, mostly new anime and some new movies, and they were on my queue with the street date. so I was happy that i have them on my queue, but happiness doesn't run with netflix. I go check today, and ALL OF THEM ARE NOW "Unknown", so basically, I got fucked. I called and asked to talked to their customer service, and talked to their so called "representative" and the douche bag was like "well sir, have you tried out streaming content, it has a lot of stuff that is on your queue" "I can't watch streaming content on netflix" "why can't you?" "I live out in the country and it just freezes up my internet" "oh well, have you tried watching netflix on xbox 360 or playstation 3 or nintendo wii" "I told you, I can't watch streaming content though netflix" "well sir, for 3 dollars more, you can get one more dvd in the mail, would you like to get that plan today" (at this point i'm pissed off with the person on the phone) "no, three is fine" "oh sir, based on your rental record, we can see that you get a lot of tv programs, with the four dvd plan, you can make sure that you get all of the discs from that particular show" "you know what, I have enough, goodbye" and I just hung up the phone.
So, within the next few days, I'm thinking about my options, and well, I might go ahead and cancel them, since I only got 2 things in my queue and both are on "Short wait". I really don't like them pushing a service that I can not do, and just hounding me about it.
Also, another thing to add to the thunder that is my rage towards those people, and basically hollywood, what the hell is up with the 28 day waiting period to get the damn movie to rent it. I mean, do you really want my measly 14.99 so that I can get a dvd with nothing on it. I mean, give us the 2 disc freaking explosion edition dvd, with special features that will blow your mind for 14.99, not 10 dollars more and you basically get shafted.
Oh well, I might go support Amazon.com and get the only stuff I want, and just feh the rest, or just wait til it comes on tv.
And to those who have netflix on your systems and whatnot, all I can say is, you're lucky. If I had DSL or Cable, maybe I won't need dvd's in the mail at all.
For those wondering, I have WildBlue, its satellite internet and IT SUCKS.

*hugs back* i do remember ya hehe. but yeah, I'm just tired of their BS, its the same way with gamefly from what i heard. I do miss the rental stores, all of the ones around me closed up

Personally, I have netflix and we never had problems streaming content or ordering DVDs for them to send and such. i guess it works for some and not for others.

maybe. I think they want me to rent their older stuff instead of newer stuff, even though i sent it out in a day, instead of keeping it as a coaster for a month.
