The meanings behind The Door to December and The Storm
15 years ago
The intended message behind "The Door to December" is that when sick and tired of life's ups and downs, of the judgment other people cast over you and other people, and of feeling and/or dealing with the joys and sorrows and loves and hates that are a part of daily life, it's okay to retreat into a cold and unfeeling stage; to retreat to a world of solitude and freeze your heart, so that the world doesn't burn you; it also warns of the dangers of doing this, saying that while it's alright to do it, you have to be careful not to get lost in the world, and let your heart and feeling be frozen in place.
Hopefully that makes sense to everyone.
"The Storm"'s message is simpler; simply that life's daily routines can get old (I'm sure we all know that...), and that sometimes we need a dramatic change to come and sweep our lives off their feet, so that things become interesting again.
To everyone who voiced an opinion under the actual poems, if I haven't thanked you in the submission comments then here's a huge thank you for all of you here in the journal n.n

But I'm here for an ear if you ever need one. Not sure if you do or not. But Iv'e been in the spot before where you have no one to turn to or talk to for whatever reason and you badly need to. It sucks and becomes hard to sleep. So I had to offer just in case. >.>...^^
