I didn't have much stopping time at that speed. There are 30 ft skid marks visible on the highway, starting from when I hit my brakes and ending at the crash.

I didn't talk to the owner of the pickup because I was taken to the hospital via ambulance.

Yeah, he was stopped on the highway. For what reason, I'm not sure.

But so far, I haven't been issued a citation, which is good. Although, I don't there is much he could write me up for aside from maybe not paying attention. I did everything I could to not hit the vehicle in front of me.

It begs the question as to why he was sitting out there in the first place however.
