OK, I did have a good time at AC. IT wasn't totally without bumps mind you, but I did have a good time. Meeting some from here and chatting was really nice. :) And you know, that's the really important part of it for me. This isn't a business for me. Luckily my main talents lay somewhere where I can pull down a salary (or stipend, when I go back to school).
The art show, wow, that was something of a letdown. Mind you a couple pieces went high, I think I'll just put up here what everything went for. I will also note that it seemed to be a pretty lean year for many in the art show, and overheard several others much better than I saying that.
The results:
This is Spart...Crete! : Sold $20
In hOtter Water: Sold $10 (min bid)
Inconvenient Truth II: Not Sold
Guitar HeRoo: Sold $50 (woo! If the person that got that is reading this, contact me, need to talk)
Come Ride the Elephant: Sold $10 (min bid)
Its All Within Reach: Sold $50 (again woo!)
Our Lady of Medicine: Sold $10 (min bid)
Avast: Not sold
Orcapeek: Not Sold
So, after all that I'm debating doing the print sales thing. If the originals barely get the cost of a print, this may not be a viable thing. Or else just offer them on demand, and throw in free shipping.
Or maybe I need to try something like FurBid, try the FC or MFF shows.
Any imput?

still glad it was an overall good con
I feel a little bad that I didn't execute the pic a little better. I think the idea deserved a better treatment. :)
feh! the picture looked fine. you did a good job. I doubt any other artist would have more fun drawing it and hell we can still talk about it. it was a lean year and besides all of that sometimes thing just don't sell like they should. It is economics
Great to hear how you did in the art show, and the room party, while small, was pretty nice too.
Now we just gotta talk you out to FC. :)
Was really nice seeing you again. *hugs ya tight*
still *laughs* and yes I remember that "ohh shit, wont sell crap again" XD
*hugs* i must admit that I'm glad that AC is over, cause now i can chat with you again ^.^
I was trying to get a hold of you all bleedin day friday...I even left a note on the board
And I'll certainly add my voice to those that said it was a lean con for arts. Some artists I know that went to the con specifically to peddle their wares ended up hurting lots compared to what they usually get at smaller things like MFF or MFM, raking in only 50% of the usual. You may want to try a smaller con some time and see how things go?
My theory is that AC is so huge, that the cash has to spread out even more. *shrugs* Granted, there are more people, but the total dollars they all have to spend divided by the number of things for sale was bound to be a lower ratio than at smaller cons. Yes, I overanalyze everything. I blame the college maths. *chuckles*
As for the prints, I think the "on demand" solution would be a good one to start with. That way you would never have extra prints lying around and being wasted.
It was really nice meeting you. And hey, you gave me a wicked idea that I hope to inflict on people soon. ;)
