Bakuman

OK, so you guys know I've been out of inspiration for little more than a month, now. Sadly, it's still going on. I've got a lot to do, been stressing out about a lot of things lately and what not. volk18 and I have also applying for jobs in retail around my neighborhood.
But man, while I was out today, I happened across the manga I've been eyeing up for weeks now. It's called, "Bakuman."
Is becoming a successful manga artist an achievable dream or just one big gamble?
Average student Moritaka Mashiro enjoys drawing for fun. When his classmate and aspiring writer Akito Takagi discovers his talent, he begs Moritaka to team up with him as a manga-creating duo. But what exactly does it take to make it in the manga-publishing world?
Moritaka is hesitant to seriously consider Akito's proposal because he knows how difficult reaching the professional level can be. Still, encouragement from persistent Akito and motivation from his crush push Moritaka to test his limits!
That's the excerpt. Now for many of you who enjoy manga, I'm sure most of you enjoy Narutoenails, Shampoo, and One Piece (I actually respect this manga.), but this is different from the average Shounen Jump series you'll find lounging about in it. It's a manga about making manga. Many of you might not find that exciting, but for the aspiring comicker, this book speaks truth, and not only truth, but heavy and GREAT tips for becoming better at manga. We all want to be manga artists sometimes, but some of us want to be better than just artists drawing to be praised.
Not only does this manga talk about how to be a manga artist, it also deals with life situations as well for those who wanted to be good in Middle school. The main characters are 15, but its hard to believe these two characters are of such an intelligence caliber.
If it helps, this manga was also made by the people who made Death Note, Blue Dragon Ral Omega Grad, and Hikaru no Go. If you want to be a comicker, I seriously suggest you shell out the $10 to get this book. It's light-hearted, funny, and endearing. I hope it gets made into an anime.
While we're at it, I'll give you the 5 Qualifications to being a Manga Artist, by Ikki Kajiwara, the greatest Shounen Artist in Shounen History:
1. Never create a superficial piece of work, turn every drop of blood into ink!
2. Do not indulge yourself in the flowers of temporal popularity. Dig up the soil to spread your roots deep below.
3. Even if you attain some status, do not linger on it. If there is a choice to choose between peace and the storm, choose the storm.
4. Never cry after being defeated. Research your defeat and let it be the mother of your victory.
5. Even if you follow the qualifications, never think you are always correct, let everybody be your teacher.
This is the way to make manga. xD

In anycase, turns out I'm not doing so well in the health department. Not only am I lacking in the inspiration field, I've stressed myself out to the point of almost breaking myself in two... So again... I've gotta take a break. Boyfriend's orders... I'm actually in quite a lot of pain all over my body, so I guess I'll follow his advice. I wanna draw again though. I miss my hands touching paper, or my fingers tightly clasping the pen and drawing what I feel. Talking to nexson or volk18 as I draw. It's always so soothing, and I always felt happy. I'm gonna come back to it soon. I will...
I gotta get better and tougher.

FA+

And sorry about the stress hon; I really do miss you and hope you get everything sorted out soon! Just gotta stay positive! :3
My stress is okay. I realize I can't be doing everything on my own. xD I just need to share my workload a bit.
Bakuman itself is like opening how the comic world (in Japanese) works, so... yeah, it's like you want to become like Britney Spears because it's full of glitter but you have no idea how things work behind it (polling, popularity contest, etc etc).
I like how Bakuman is. And it's more or less a shocking reality for many kids in the US who want to be "Manga artists." It's not a hobby for them, it's their life. I hope more people grasp on to it, and see how hard it is to become one. I think I actually might consider giving up my dream for becoming a manga artist. It's too hard. xDDD
*stares at rejection proposals on the desk*
But man... I hope it isn't too serious... I hope I can be of help this weekend ={
It is serious, but it won't kill me. I'm sure we'll make it through.
but that manifesto sounds pretty A+.
Bakuman is DEFINITELY A+. Knowing its base though, it might not be as popular as Ohba and Obata's Death Note. Ral Omega Grad wasn't even that popular, sadly...
-examines bald head- Eh...I just use soap
I'll have to look up Bakuman, anyway! All the manga on my comic-book shelf are getting very tired of each-other and could use the company. xD
(I dare say I'm not much for actual literature. @w@;; )
But I'll definitely take a look.
For someone as Smart as Takagi is supposed to be, he sure seems like an average school kid. DON'T SPOIL THINGS FOR MEH! I'm only on the first volume! DX
I'm sorry to hear that your block is still around... did you tried what i told you the last time on msn ?
As for the health... that always comes first.. and Volk is right.. you should rest until you feel better ^^
I'm sorry i haven't been around to chat if you needed so >.< i'll try to be more online... hopefully i can help in some way.
Take care... *Smiles and waves*
I'm resting now, thankfully. I'm more relaxed. But I still need to do things.
Thank you for your offer, I'll be sure to catch you on it!
I'm sure I'll be a good illustrator. xD But I'm not sure if I can pursue it too professionally.
I'm even making mini comics of my own to show how bored I am. ._.;;
But take care, don't push yourself too hard, make sure you brush your teeth and floss--- (Nag, nag, nag).
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is actually quite popular, I've never read it myself. I'm not on the Shoujo scene, I'm a shounen and detective type person.
I'm trying my hardest to take care of myself. I need to get into shape is what I need. xD
I knew it was quite popular, but I don't think they have a lot of a fan base around it, I'd say that The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is kind of a Shounen in my opinion, they have the action and comedy and things in it, though I think Higurashi is sort of a detective theme, seeing as it has a large mystery genre around it, I was so confused in the anime I start reading the manga to clear my head XD, though it all makes sense now o.o.
Okey dokey XD! Stay in shape and you'll take care of yourself :D! Good luck :D!
