Need some help with GIMP program

I recently started using the freeware program GIMP and i'm having an issue with it. Not sure what i did but for adding text to a picture i accidently closed the one toolbar which normally appears on the bottom left. It would show various adjustments to the text as i type (size,color,style). I have no idea how to get it back...its just an empty space now. Looked through the option but can't find anything. Can someone point me in the right direction?
In the Toolbox the Text Tool button, double click on it. That will bring up the Tool Options box.
On the main left toolbar there's "You can drop dockable dialogs here", grab the "Text" title if the Text Tools Options, drag and drop it to the main tool bar.
