I just broke it to my mom..

Yep, I finally summoned up the courage to reveal my furriness to my mom--and she understands my presence in the fandom completely.
In short, she said that it's an outlet for my creativity and intelligence--which really made me understand myself why I am a furry. I couldn't agree more with what she has said and I feel really relieved that it went so well.
So to all of those out there who want to come out of the furry closet; give it some thought and summon up the courage yourself. Your parents love you more than anything in the world and I'm sure they'll understand and/or be fine with how you choose to express yourself, online or off.

Glad it went well for you.
she'd probably just look confussed and say "what's a furry?"
