WoW stuff

"I have to ask you the same question people back home are asking about space these days. Is it worth it? Should we just pull back? Forget the whole thing as a bad idea, and take care of our own problems, at home."
Mostly writing this to get the previous entry off my page.
Things in WoW have changed a bit for me lately. OC had finally gotten to Lich King, and we'd been working on him... but of the people we needed to down him, maybe half stopped showing up. We had enough warm bodies to fill the raid, but not enough skilled raiders. This was pretty much shoved in our faces when we pugged in a tank from another guild who was the husband of someone we'd just picked up, and we were consistently getting a bit of a ways into phase 2... then the next week without him and that new guildie(which ended up being a mess I don't want to get into) we didn't even make it to the first transition consistantly.
So when our second best healer couldn't make raids anymore, and 3 of our remaining core left, I left with them. The new guild I'm in is at least as good as OC was, as they got as far as we did, and they have a kingslayer so they've been working on hard modes. On top of that, with the people in the guild, it has something OC had been missing and I didn't even realize it until I was trying to decide which of 2 guild to go for: fun.
With the push to get to and down LK, and the mix of players, while there was some joking around on vent, we didn't really have enough slack to screw around and still down the bosses. This guild always makes me laugh, and is fun to joke around with. They can get serious if need be, but there's more room for levity. I don't have a guaranteed raid spot anymore but eh, I stopped actively chasing gear a while back when it became obvious Cata has a huuuuge gear reset. (And when I had 3 toons at 6k GS.)
Also my girlfriend/mate is playing now, so I've got an alt I'm leveling up alongside her, until she gets in range of my 80s. Her character's a tank and is gonna dual-spec into heals, so we've been abusing the LFD tool for leveling rather than questing. And like I told her before, I'm going to damn well make sure she gets into ICC 10-mans at least, even if I have to put them together myself.

It's rather funny how everyone is tripping over themselves to get what gear they can from 10 and 25 icc. One hunter was going spazztic during an VoA run, not wanting other hunters for competition, when in truth like what 3 months from now when Cata arrives, its pretty obsolete?
Guild I run with never seems to fully pull off a full clear either. 25 mans always end up halting before Rotface or Festergut or after downing one or other. Theres been that rare chance both drop and that would be it.
Closest I've gone to is up to Sindragosa. . .oye she is a pain. no Lich King yet and I doubt we'll manage that far into it.
I'd actually been running a semi-pug 25 with the guild I'm in now for the past few months, since it had been on one of my off-nights, and we get up through Blood Princes usually now. We've attempted BQL and Dreamwalker in those 25s, but haven't downed either yet.
And yeah, Sindragosa is definitely a pain... OC actually almost broke up when we got stuck on her for a while in 10s, but then we finally got our RL to change strategies(for once in a blue moon!) and downed her. If it hadn't been for that, likely this same thing would have happened a couple months earlier.
