Okay, just for the record... I live in Texas... but after hearing this, I'm shocked. All of that is stupid coming from Texas because it's very hypocritical. Most Texans, as far as I know, enjoy their porn, their sodomy, and oral. I understand there are a lot of bible thumpers here and that's unfortunate as hell but most of them get ignored by the rest of us 'sane' people. As for the deep water drilling, that just needs to be forgotten about. I mean, don't we already have a problem with that currently? Duh, intelligence at it's finest here. I also agree with the comment, "religion mixed with money is a bad combo," look at televangilism, "send me your money and I'll get rich while you still suffer and I'll give you a lame trinket as a thank you." Yeah, this is crap, it won't happen, there are too many of us even living in the state that can't stand any of this crap. Thanks for letting me vent a little and tell all, not everyone in Texas is that stupid.

I say the best way to deal with this is by exercising the right that Texan politicians seem to defend more than anything else: the right to bear arms. Do you know why our founding fathers gave us the second ammendment? It wasn't for hunting, it was for defending oneself, it was so that citizens would be able to form militias and rise up against the government in the event that it becomes too oppressive. And quite honestly, I couldnt' think of a better opportunity to exercise this right. And while it may be true that fundamentalist Christians may be in support of this legistlations, I really don't think that the hardcore redneck demographic will be too happy about the ban on porn.

Huh, one thing I'm surprised that the Huffington post DIDN'T mention is their policy on Israel: "[Israel] is based on God’s biblical promise to bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel." I know I might get called anti-semetic for this, but quite frankly I don't give a shit... I'm am getting fed up with all this "pro-Zionist" bullshit that the Christians on the right and the Jews on the left continuously force-feed us. Yes I said Zionist, but I'm not talking Zionism in the same that Muslim extremists talk about it, saying how every popular thing in Western culture is Zionist propaganda in disguise, I'm talking about this whole notion that America must unconditionally support the nation of Israel no matter what. As far as I'm concerned, Israel is no better than any extremist Palestinian groups on the Gaza Strip, who, by the way, aren't ALL Muslim extremists, in fact the Palestinian population consists of Muslims, Christians AND Jews.

I actually agree with you on that. Israel should know better than to abuse their ties to the U.S. by pulling stunts like that raid on the Gaza aid flotilla...
