Help? Looking for some digital drawing notebook size gizmo
15 years ago
General
I've always wanted to have some sort of digital small notebook to carry with me all times to draw on when times get bored while I'm out of home.
That's why I bought myself my Acer Travelmate tablet pc when they were still new to the market, but sadly it heats a lot, it's too big in size and it's heavy, in conclusion, not good to carry around.
Then I bought myself a HP iPaq Pocket PC, the biggest screen model I could find, it was *almost* what I needed and I did install some drawing programs on it but it was still not as good and comfortable to draw on it.
Then I bought what was the fastest cellphone at the time, the XDA Exec from O2 which had a better screen resolution than the HP iPaq and looked cool! like a mini-tablet pc. But even being that cool, it still wasn't confortable to draw on it, the screen was smaller than the HP iPaq and it was difficult to draw something nice looking, just like drawing on a Nintendo DS.
So, now with all those advances in technology and all those touchpad gizmos, I am looking for something not as big as the tablet pcs, but not as small as an iPhone I need something in a middle size of them.
The Apple iPad looks decent, but, it doesn't seem nice to make some drawings on it, anyone has had any experience drawing with an iPad?
Do anyone knows about some other gizmo that I could use to draw more professionally on it?
Thanks in advance for your time.

In fact, Tablet PCs are basically as good as it gets. I mean, IPAD is probably good and all, but it DOESN'T HAVE PRESSURE SENSITIVITY. So I really don't recommend it.
I got a tablet PC a few months ago. By Fujitsu. It's a bit expensive but it works FLAWLESSLY. The pressure response isn't as good as my Wacom Tablet, but go figure. It still works marvelously, and surpasses my expectations for on-the-go-photoshop/flash
Mine was expensive though >.>

However they have a plenty big selection of many tablet PCs.
I got the T900, if you have any questions regarding it, just let me know.
It's pretty small, but not netbook small. So I dunno... I absolutely love it.
It doesn't over heat, the fan area is pretty warm, only when I'm playing World Of Warcraft though haha.
yeah, just let me know if you have any questions, I've tested and tried this baby, she's the shit.
Starting this year I bought a HP TouchSmart TX2 and just like yours this one is fantastic. But still, I think the right size would be a netbook size just like you mentioned :3
About your tablet pc, yes, I have some questions:
Does your digitizer was made by wacom or n-trig? I couldn't find such information on the specs for your computer.
Does the pen have an eraser?
Is your model the pen only or pen+touchscreen model?
The pen DOES have an eraser. However, the pressure sensitivity isn't as fine as the tip *shrugs* I dunno if that's a biggy for you or not.
It's Pen/Touch, but you alter it to be Pen only.
See, you can purchase a few pre-determined types, but some laptops, you can customize. Upping ram/graphics/processing/and altering the screen.
Let me know if you need anything else!
And from what I know, there are no tablet PCs that are net book size. And if they are, they don't have the power to run anything desirable.
Thanks again ^^
Don't buy it, but if you're at a store that has it, you should try it out. You might enjoy it :3
If it offers at least some pressure sensitivity like the tablet pcs, then it might be what I needed.
Thanks for the info, I will investigate about those pens ^^
iPad nuuuu x3
Lenovo S10 --> http://cgi.ebay.com/Lenovo-S10-netb.....=Laptops_Nov05
this computer is very small and light and you can carry it very easy
WACOM Intuos3 --> http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000I62PEU/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1282829761&sr=8-3&condition=used
Intuos3 is the best drawing tablet you can get without buying extremely expensive ones, it has very very good pressure sensitivity and the same resolution as much more expensive models, and about the same dimension as the Lenovo

Lenovo S10 3T --> http://cgi.ebay.com/Lenovo-S10-3T-0.....=Laptops_Nov05
like a Lenovo S10, but as a tablet computer
PC + Tablet is not what I was looking for, but that little tablet PC sounds just like what I needed ^^
It's just touch all the way =(
if you can find a computer store that has one, ask them to let you try it with a stylus and drawing program
