I LOVE THIS! I am pretty sure I referenced this in one of my audio-things. Anyway, I tell everyone I know who does art about it.

I've had something like this going on for me for a while now. The other place the inspiration comes from is my subconscious, which is technically me, but it is not a place that the conscious Self has much access to. I have conversations with a character of mine who is most basically called the Other, and in doing that can get into a state of mind in which I am more connected to the subconscious. The character I've said, writes himself. He's written out of the subconscious, and brings information to me. These states of mind have a spiritual quality to them. I still think it is all coming from me, that it is not supernatural.

I understand. There are certain aspects of ourselves that we never really get to encounter, save perhaps in our dreams. People who are more in tune with their creativeness seem to be able to tape into this better then others who may not. However I stress that anyone can be creative. They simply have to want to be and be ready to look out for the creativity when it comes to their door. This idea of genius has fascinated me greatly because suddenly my creativity has been shown in another light. It's something I never thought I would be able to experiance, but what a silly thought to think one cannot change their outlook.
