Good news!

Hello FurAffinity,
I'm back from my vacation and in high spirits. Even the backlog in my submissions inbox, though daunting, is not a damper. The causes of my elation are twofold.
First, getting away from my computer for a week seems to have jump-started my creative drive. Armed with naught but a pencil and a pad of paper I made significant progress on scribing a narrative that I have been wrestling with for far too long. I hope to have it finished and ready to be posted by the end of the week, but no guarantees.
Second, I HAVE A JOB! The day before we left on our vacation, I had a job interview. On Thursday, August 12 - one year to the day after my college diploma was issued - the company sent me an e-mail offering me a job. Starting this coming Thursday I will be employed as an Industrial Hygiene Technician. It is not as glamorous as it sounds, but I'm still truly looking forward to it. I'd rather have a job that's interesting than one that's glamorous, and the job certainly sounded interesting when I was interviewing for it. The pay isn't spectacular, but it's more than I'm currently making (zero dollars, not counting occasional short-term landscaping or cat-sitting jobs for neighbors) and the company will be paying for my training and certification.
The only downside is that if I start working a full-time job, I will no longer be able to spend all day on the Internet as I have become accustomed to doing in the last year. I am going to have to completely re-budget how I spend my time, and unfortunately I may have to cut back on FA somewhat. Hopefully I’ll be able to hammer out a routine that still allows me to spend time doing the things I want to do as well as the things I have to do.
Gainfully employed,
Kinto
