I'm engaged!
Okay, I've been married twice before, but never had the opportunity to be engaged, never planned a wedding...So much to do/think about...
Maybe I should start from the beginning, eh?
Okay, yesterday was Eben's birthday. We went to the movies (Cars is actually a very good movie! It's cute and has good values. It's also longer than most movies, I believe it's right around 2 hours.)
After the movies, we went bowling with some friends. I haven't bowled since I was 8 years old, and could only roll gutter balls then...Which is probably most of what I rolled last night as well o.O;; But I had fun! Plus I can just blame my suckiness on my dislocated thumb (Well, it's been two months since it was dislocated, but still...It's slightly painful.)
Next, we went to the Captains Lounge here in Savannah for Karaoke and drinks.
Eben dedicated Elton John's "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" to me. Near the end of the song, he motioned for me to get onstage and dance with him. Of course, I did!
I was up next to sing (My Immortal by Evanessence), but he asked the DJ to wait a minute...Then he popped the question, in front of everyone in the bar. I was astounded, taken aback, happy, ecstatic (Well, you get the picture...I was floored.)
He pulled out this gorgeous amethyst and diamond ring.
I thought I said "yes" but apparently I forgot the words. All I know is I jumped into his arms and kissed him...and kissed him...And kissed him some more.
This is still so new to me, so fresh...I'm still excited. It was the most romantic proposal I could ever imagine...
Every day I thank my lucky stars for everything I have been blessed with. I've loved Eben from the moment I met him. I made my mistakes, I've done my time for them, but my current situation just goes to show that true love never dies. It forgives, it forgets. And it always...Always comes back to you.
Awwwwwwwwwer...I'm so happy!
