Why? Is America really that full of itself it actually has to remake a foreign movie, that won dozens of awards, just because some people refuse to listen to a language they've never heard (and for your information, Swedish is an interesting language)
I'm sincerely hoping this is getting the same result the Spanish [REC] movie got, when it was remade as an American movie (which was shit).
If you people even dare to remake Let The Right One In, I'm going to have to start killing people. And I'm sure no sane judge would ever consider me guilty
(P.S Both books were my favorites of all time. Look up Stieg Larsson' Millennium trilogy (thriller) and John Ajvide Lindqvist (horror, but with a terrific twist))

I recall a VG cats comic that ripped into the Micheal Bay "Transformers" movie. The Flash animator, Egoraptor recently poked fun at "localization" when he made an anime parody featuring sushi rolls in chopsticks which the voice actors refered to as "hotdogs with 'flavor sticks'".
Hatred for Hollywood's "Adaptations" of stuff exists, and in sizable quantity within mainstream US. Hollywood is the minority.
parodies I approve of... except for those Scary Movie movies... those are just plain horrible
