I agree with the police chief in that this has probably nothing to do with the NYC Mosque itself, but is more an attack on his culture and religion as a whole. I wouldn't be surprised if Palin, Beck, Gingrich and co. started yapping about how this guy is a misunderstood (drunken) hero. And here I thought our society was more tolerant than this.
Apparently there was a study that concluded that identified human society's behavior and morals as similar to those of a two-year-old's. Think about it for a moment. Isn't that the truest, most terrifying statistic I've heard in a long, long while.
In other news, someone got booted out of the Primary election in Alaska by a Teabagger. Don't try and tell me this is important news, or that this means anything for America, because it doesn't. Statistics show that on average 90% of incumbent politicians get re-elected. PLUS IT'S ALASKA. THESE PEOPLE SAW FIT TO ELECT SARAH PALIN. These people aren't representative of the average American at all.
And finally, I was watching Rachel Maddow's program on MSNBC last night and I happened to realize that the liberal-leaning journalists always seemed to be chuckling and in generally good moods all the time, whereas conservative "journalists" like Beck and Limbaugh are always worked up into a frenzy with fear and anger and really not any positive emotions ever! IMHO, is that because the conservatives know that they're losing the ideological war more and more with every passing day? Please discuss.

FA+

Kinda reminds me of an local incident that happened where I lived where this teenage boy killed his granfather, and the strange thing is that he had no prior history of violent behavior, he'd never shown any signs of suffering from any kind of mental instability, and he and his grandpa were very close and shared a good relationship. So what the Hell could cause something like that to happen? Really is some weird shit...
it's ahrd to believe the average american cannot realize that concept they arnt the average "american" it's the fanatical that do things such as the attack on the innocent man. then again, think about the phrase... did i just describe the "Muslim attack on the Twin Towers" or the one of the american on the Muslim?
is there a difference to begin with?
*sighs* there is a phrase: "a person is smart- however when when one then one smart person group together, they become people. people are stupid, and the intelligence of the individual person becomes irrelevant."
and Love? when it comes to fanatical things, he'd not have to show a history of mental illnesses or anything... his biggest sign is not a registered "illness"... it's call True-Blood American Syndrome ;P no need for mental illness, you simple need be not that person's idea of an american to be hated by it.
no matter the ideologicals of any culture regardless fanatical zealotry is the same thing as saying "a peaceful, loving god demands you deaths, because i said so."
From my extremely low knowledge over this whole NY Mosque thing, what I know is there building a Mosque on ground zero... or is just nearby?
If it is the first one, then, yeah, I disagree with it being build there, not for some fanatical religious reason, but more the fact of what 9/11 meant to us here in Australia. All the 9/11 conspiracy theory bullshit aside, it was Islamic Radicals the hijacked the planes and threw them into the towers, no?
So then, a mosque shouldn't be built on the site, nearby, I don't really give a crap if it's nearby, people are entitled to their religion.
That other thing, I have no idea about. ^^; But, what I do know, is the Alaskan Gov't pisses me off.
Oh, and some interesting Australian politics now! I'm curious to wether you've heard about this or not.
Australia has a hung government at the moment, meaning the Labor and Liberal parties tied in the election, so now 5 people from the Senate have to decide who will become the next PM. Pretty significant news for us, considering it's never happened in our history.
