I agree, but all these people are complaining because of the subject matter. I think half of the fandom thinks there will be a sex scene or something lol.
lol yep..... I wonder how many people realize the amount of violence and stuff we had in cartoons as kids..... The Lion King is Hamlet with lions..... and I guaran-damn-tee Simba & Nala arent just 'snuggling' in the grass.
I keep seeing tons of people saying that the subject matter is too adult for kids.
Because yeah, all little kids know that it takes a penis and a vagina to make babies, right?
When I was little, I just knew that most couples I had seen had kids. So to me, it's not sexual.
And fi the kid's been educated to the point where he/she knows, then what's the big deal? THe parents just say no and that's final if they think their kid can't handle it.
Can't be any worse than the loads of people who let their kids play call of duty and the like before they're even ten.
I never saw Happy Feet, but at least the trailers didn't advertise as much innuendo as it did dancing penguins...
Alpha and Omega looks scary bad, however. I mean maybe being a furry has amplified the uncomfortableness I got from the trailer, but in general it just looks like it looks really bad for a myriad of reasons..
Hahahaha!! Well that's half, "Getting Shit Passed the Radar" and half lewd humor thrown in for the Parents watching the movie.
Not entirely graceful or subtle, but I think for the most part it probably flew over most kids heads.
I think the problem with Alpha and Omega is how brazen and unsubtle a lot of the innuendo is. That aside, it still looks like a legendarily bad movie in so many respects.
See, I didn't find it half as sexual as Happy Feet.
Happy Feet actually uses the word 'mating' in it. A character asks his group of ladies 'who's first?' first after announcing mating season and then there's a moaning penguin.
Just to name a couple things...lol.
Alpha and Omega's not nearly as sexual as that.
If 'We can eat together, but be can't...yanno...'howl' together.." is sexual...well...damn.
Don't watch Happy Feet.
Well you don't really need to convince me on the sexual, or non-sexual nature of Alpha and Omega. The problem I think is less the innuendo, but the almost overly anthropomorphized presentation of the female wolf, and that the trailers first few jokes string together an aggressively advertised message that the female wolf is attractive and desirable. Again, perhaps it's only because I'm a furry that it makes me feel as uncomfortable as it does, but it just seems like the movie is trying to not sell the concept of sex, but an overly sexualized view of a wolf.
Also, the fact the trailer segues from jokes about "re-population" to jokes about needing to piss is another incredibly unnerving thing.
In all fairness, I understand this movie is designed for children, but honestly it looks like it's going to be a film that'll demean it's audience and offer nothing more than low-grade potty humor. Plus artistically it looks incredibly unimpressive for a big studio film.
Oh I sort of misread what you were saying in your comment about Happy Feet... I thought you were honestly recommending I not see it.
I have no real desire to see it, I suppose, but if my little cousin was watching it I might be inclined to tune into it. But, as I stated before, I'm not a huge fan of penguins.
Ahh, I adore penguins. I find them ridiculously fascinating.
I like happy Feet. It's not the best, but it's pretty interesting how they take real habits of penguins and modernize/humanize them.
It's a decent movie to check out. Seen worse.
Hahah! This really doesn't invalidate my argument, but I'll admit the trailer is nowhere near this level of bad.
In fairness to your defense of the movie, though, we will have to wait for the release of the picture before anything definitive can be said. I hope for the sake of the people looking forward to the film that it is entertaining to them, however I'll retain my skepticism and criticism until I'm proven otherwise.
I think the problem is we've reached a certain point of expectation from 3D animated films. If a first-time studio like Illumination Entertainment can make Despicable Me, there is very little excuse for any other studio to not have an artistically impressive piece.
And hey, you've pretty much got it pegged--A lot of the rage is just, "lolfurries" doing what the do best, creating drama where none is needed.
Okay...with today's society...yes it is. A girl in the 4th grade got pregnant for fucks sake, In the same school as my sister!
Kids today actually know! That's disgusting!
And for the record,...I didn't recognize any 3 4 in Happy Feet...mostly cuz I don't know what that is...and I don't wanna know. Aside from "Let's talk about *ex baby...* I did know about that song at the time...
But even then, I grew up and around tons of stupid sluts and used to be very "omg i wanna fit in!" and yet I never became a slut [nowhere even close lol] so...
I guess it depends the person.
Was the third movie any good ? Something about dinosaurs alongside sloths, mammoths and saber tooth cats turned me off and I couldn't bring myself to see it..
Possibly, the male lead characters are both portrayed as losers and then make good with some inner talent. I just hope Alpha and Omega isn't scattered with musical numbers.
I can see your point there. I'm with you on the definitely not seeing it in theaters, though. If it somehow (miraculously) turns out to be good I'll buy it, but I'm not going to hand over my money for potential mediocrity, you know? I made that mistake with the Last Airblunder because I was a fan of the source material. Never again. xD
I didn't make this journal to complain about the look of the movie or animation. That's not the point at all.
It's the people making a fuss over small, insignificant things.
I've never heard anyone complain about it being too sexual? Nor have I ever gotten that from the few trailers I've seen. I've seen complaints about the low grade humor and the animation though.
But even that kind of bothers me. No, this movie doesn't look visually stunning but are we THAT spoiled that we expect every animated movie to look like a masterpiece? Ignoring the story line of this film, why should anyone write off a movie based on how it looks animation wise? Personally I think it's stupid and kind of elitist jhghj And then for people to start complaining about how it's too sexual oh my god, why can't this movie just exist as something silly and fun? People are so uptight |:
I have seen a few people talking about it here on FA.
Also, I completely agree with you. While I do think the animation could be better, it's not enough to detour me completely from the movie. I would still like to check it out.
I think it's because they're wolves. And wolves are hella popular and thought of as GODS in the furry fandom so... Anything less than perfect is rage worthy.
You know what, we start by complaining about little insignificant things like this and soon we end up going to the movie theater to watch a blank screen. I'd rather see love making in a children's movie than brains falling out of little doggy's skulls.
I agree. I am not here to bitch about either movie, really. I am just wondering why 'Alpha and Omega' is catching so much shit about being too 'sexual' when movies like 'Happy Feet' go unnoticed with their highly sexual movie lol.
...I actually thought I was the only person that noticed, didn't know anyone else had said much about it. It doesn't really bug me though, I don't care that much, but the trailer did strike me as being too focused on sexual subject matter (more things like "she is sooo hawt" than the repopulating mentionings, kids knows things reproduce, but i don't think kids under the age of 12 or so need to be thinking about others as 'hawt' or not...not that it matters, i'll never be a parent), and also too focused on butt-and-pee jokes. But then again kids laugh at the latter, so it's understandable.. :)
I don't remember Happy Feet having all that much sexuality in it, but it also impressed on me as being aimed as much at adults as kids, rather than solely at kids. That short clip was a blatant moment. Though 2 of those 5 they counted i wouldn't call sexual positions at all. =P The other three absolutely though. XD
See, I don't find "She is soooo hot" to be sexual. Like..at all.
I would rather see that than belching or farting jokes as they aren't really funny.
Save for Terrance and Phillip.
I agree that those '5' positions weren't all bad. But 3 were and a lot more in Happy Feet was highly sexual.
Way more than "She's soooo hot" anyway.
This is directed at all the retards bitching about the subject matter of 'Alpha and Omega'.
Point is, other movies made for kids are more sexual in my opinion. At least in comparison to what I've seen so far.
The Secret of NIMH and All Dogs go to Heaven are both rated G and I think those two should have been 'PG' at least. Lol.
:|
Watch South Park Bigger, Longer and Uncut to see what I mean.
There's even a female penguin who moans a couple times, lol.
Yeah Happy Feet was pretty edgy xD
Because yeah, all little kids know that it takes a penis and a vagina to make babies, right?

I wish the wolves were portrayed better, but whatever.
I will probably wait for the dvd release and rent it or something. I don't wanna pay to see it in theaters so.
I just don't get all the rage. *Shrug*
Probably cus they're supposed to be "beautiful, glorious and majestic" wolves and they're more cartoony lol.
lolfurries.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThsBkUJx0eQ Sexual positions are a-go.
And movies aren't to blame for the ignorance of kids.
I guess it depends the person.
.... maybe I'll go watch these now and laugh about Hollywood.
Manny is my favorite, personally.
o_o;
those eyes. I don't understand how people find characters with eyes set so low on the face and so big to be appealing at all. I can't stand that look.
Anyway yeah, I agree that people shouldn't be fussing over it. The movie seems innocent enough for sure.
It's the people making a fuss over small, insignificant things.
