The Second Lynxavetatan Empire: History
The Second Lynxavetatan Empire is an arid, hot country in the southern continent. Inhabited by Lynx and bush dogs, it is made up of 25 cantonas (cantons), with a population of 80,000,000.
First discovered by Latronian conquistadores, the latronian invaders quickly crushed underfoot the native peoples, although native jungle peoples in the south continued to resist until independence.
The civilization conquered by the latranian is today known as the Catapulto civilization. They were a centralised people, who lived in large stone cities, constructed out of stone mined from cliff sides.
In 1822, after centuries of oppression, a rebellion of the dons began, which inspired the peasants to rise up against their oppressors. The rebellion, which lasted six months, quickly led to victory for the rebels, and The first Empire of Lynxavetata was formed.
In 1898, the great war started, with Lynxavetata spending most of it fighting its neighbour, the Canine Confederation (

The war, which lasted 14 years, was long and bloody. The Lynxavetatan Empire's army was poorly equipped, and what equipment they had was severely lacking.

AS the viewer can see, they were employing old fashioned uniforms, against an enemy who was more numerous and better equipped and supplied.
They fought bravely and had skilled leadership, but were none the less pushed back to their capital.
Only the strength and depth of Lynxavetatan defences, the initiative of a group of staff officers, and the supreme valour of its troops saved Lynxavetata from total annihilation, with the northern lands being swallowed into the CIWS.
A nationalist movement swept through the nation, with dismayed army leaders and politicians leading the way to reform and recovery. It also lit the spark for a communist insurgency which continues to this day.

The Lynxavetatan language is claimed by many less informed to be a Creole language, on the basis of its similar appearance to latranian. On the contrary, it is a mostly indigenous language, whose ancestry can be traced to old scrolls found in a ruined city in the jungles of the south.

The Lynxavetatan Imperial Armed Forces: Overview
Founded in 579, although it can trace its origins back as far as 8,000 BW, the Lynxavetatan army has been famed for adopting new weaponry years ahead of its time, and for its notorious poor equipment in its early days.
Conscription has been abolished, though many males join nonetheless, usually as a way out of poverty and desperation induced by lack of decent living conditions, or destitution as a result of poor harvests.
The army is nowadays moderately well equipped, its troops nicknamed the Cxiuahaltapultos on account of their distinctive Cxuiha helmets. Wearing sand khaki uniforms, and carrying Metchuipal battle rifles onto the battlefield, supported by the Nahuatl MBT and Stubby Gonzaléz GA34 jet fighters, these men and women are fierce and determined soldiers, striking fear into the hearts of all who oppose them with their battle cry of “SÃBRIKTI!”

The Lynxavetatan Empire is headed currently by Emperor Merripe the IIV. An intelligent but hot headed young man, he is a fearsome strategist, but his fiery temper reveals a shortcoming that may lead to his (and Lynxavetata’s) own undoing. Each Cantona is represented by a congressman, elected by the people. A head chancellor is also elected, although he is merely an official.
Lynxavetatan people:
Most modern Lynxavetatans are of mixed race identity, although the majority have a more feline appearance. The majority are both bush dog and lynx in ancestry, and some with a smattering of coyote. The cities of Lynxavetata are unusually festive areas, home to rampant male and female prostitution (homosexuality being considered an accepted fact of life), drug wars, gangs, and frequent coup attempts by the military. Loyalty, a much sought after commodity in Lynxavetata, is rare among the higher echelons of the army, although the dedication of the soldiers and infantry officers themselves is legendary. As such, Emperor Merripe has developed a keen nose for treachery, having Marshalls he suspects of treason exiled or locked away and usually dying later in their cells.
Religion:
The overwhelming majority of religious Lynxavetatans worship the various gods and spirits that are said to have created this world. The form of worship is perhaps the most controversial in existence. Prisoners of war, usually known war criminals, prisoners of war, or men and women bearing the death penalty, are used as living sacrifices. The blood, which considered being the energy and driving force behind the universe, is drunk by the high priests in a long and complicated ritual.
