Have You Ever...

Battle not with monsters, least ye become one...
Felt like you've hit the black abyss with your artwork, where you feel you'll never draw again? That you really have no motivation what so ever, despite all of the wonderful inspirations that come and go through the galleries? That nothing, no where can lift you back into drawing, no matter what? Even though my stress levels have dropped tremendously, I just can't get into drawing. Hell I can't even get into picking up a pencil and doodling... I just stare at the paper and go 'ho hum'... Its not like I'm lazy, I really do like drawing but... Hell I don't know what's wrong, I don't know how I can get myself back into the art scene... Maybe it is laziness? I just feel... Bleh with my artwork, I've been mostly piddling around with my photography, but that doesn't even take up fifteen minutes of my time. I don't understand it and it bothers me, especially since I have a kiriban I still haven't done, and art requests growing mold. *Sighs* I don't know where my muse has gone... I've lost it amiss the highway of art.

Not with drawing, mainly cause I am not that great at it. Though when it comes to writing yes.

Well, personally I consider writing a sort of art. ^^ So I know where you're coming from... But luckily the use of my daily rp keeps me up to par with writing, but even then if I have a mindblank, I write through it, or go to a different rp with said friend. Then again I haven't written solid stories outside of rps for a long while myself. Anyway I'm rambling, lol. >P

Yeah, I have tried so many times these past few years to write something...but nothing. It's like writers block since 2003 >< heh

No need to hurry, no need to be obliged to draw. It would not be only you not to feel like drawing once in a while. It seems to be okay to see where to practice in art. I make it a rule not to draw aimlessly.

True, but its a little frustrating. Ah well, I guess it'll come when it does.

Take your time. Getting over what feels like a block takes time, ideas, and something to trigger your want to draw. I've been that road many times and know how you feel. Whenever I come across my block, I imagine something smashing it. For me it's usually Genis, from Tales of Symphonia, with a colossal sword cleaving the block in two ^_^

Thank you. I just feel... Upset that these people have been waiting so long for me to get out of my slump, and while they haven't said anything nor rushed me... I just feel bad.

Sometimes it's that negative feeling that we get while everyone is waiting for us to get out of our slumps that motivates us to continue our artistic endeavors. I, for one, think of all the smiles that vanish when I can't get in the mood to draw. Art brings other people happiness, and that is what drives me, the comical destruction of the block is what spurs me to pick up my pencil in the first place.

^^ Yes, that is true. Thank you again, it really is comforting. I'm sure that I'll pull out of this, it'll just take some time I think.

My pleasure. To help those in need has always been my goal in life. I'm sure the furry community will continue to patiently wait as you pull through your slump, waiting with helping hands to pull you along when you need them. I realixe it may sound a little clichéd, but patience is a virtue. All things in time, time will reveal.

^^ Yes. I'm sure it will. Don't worry it may or may not sound cliche, but it is still very heartwarming.
