Start small. One character sketch, 5 bucks, two character sketch 8. One character lineart (ink) 10 bucks, two character 15. One character full color 15 bucks, two character 20. That way, it's cheap, easy, and in price range to get your name out there as you improve by working on them each time. The more people commission, the more your name will get out there and your style will get better--and then you can slowly raise your prices as you keep improving. :)
