Really? I used to be a huge fan of MTG, which cards did you do?

I actually did around 30--but not being a top-teir artist, I usually got fairly low end cards...usually commons. There were a few cool ones, tho. If you google Mark Brill+Magic you'll probably see a bunch of them. ^0^ A few I did were: Forbidden Watchtower, Burst of Energy, Sage Owl (although I think they recently replaced my art), Empty the Warrens, Shared Triumph and Arcane Teachings, in which I used myself as a model.

Seaside haven! that was in my aven soldier deck. I also remember using Flameshot and forbidden watchtower. Pretty kickass, dude.

Seaside Haven has an interesting (to me anyway) story behind it. It was one of two that they gave me one day with an emergency turn-around deadline. I did them overnight. They were my first digitally painted cards, I believe. That's the only way I could have done them both with the quick turn-around. Apparently they had rejected the art done by the person they had originally assigned them to and needed them immediately. I can't remember where I was working at the time, but I was asked if I could do them via email, did the sketches that got appoved that same day and then sat up all night painting them in Photoshop...and then went to work the next day! Don't know if I could do that now. Although on 24 hour comic day, we'll see!

I'm glad to see such an interview. I've known your works since I first found your stuff on what used to be Fur Nation, I would have never guessed at the time that you had done Magic cards as well, and later on I was in awe of you coming on this site and even more so of the works that you have presented since. You are one of the few people who has been able to be a professional in both clean and adult works without any real holdups (any visible ones anyway). I'm still very happy to see that you are on this site, and I look forward to what else you end up producing ( I'm still happily collecting Rocketship Rodents. ;) )

The video DID have the benefit of only showing my face most of the time--which looked huge enough. It's weird tho--I don't "feel" like I look like that. When I'm in repose, eyes closed and relaxed, I still imagine myself as 18 or 20. MUCH thinner, much cuter and much more the optimist and dreamer.
