Ah, hmm. Do you have any good guides on Art Rage 2? It seems like an excellent program for doing coloring yet at the same time it seems to have secrets to actually using it to create stunning stuff(As shown to us by Adam Wan and Moonstalker and many other amazing artists)
Have you used it much yourself? What do you think of it so far?
With painter there alot more features then what you would in art rage. But thats about it. I never used art rage and can;t really. Not enough picks on the traditional media, but a bit more easy to work with and good if your coloring for stuff online and such.
Painter is really good but a bit hard to use with some its features. I use painter and find it okay. I used art rage a few times, not really use . Its a bit hard to control, not a good mix as painter has.
that and the fact you can create all the brushes featured on photoshop, paint.net, gimp, open canvas, and paintchat (to mention just a few) in painter.
I like Opencanvas the best, but that's because it's rather simple to use. However, the major con to it being simple is that it doesn't have the flexibility the other programs have.
Artrage is the one I've used the least of, and it seems to be somewhat of a middle-ground. However, my thoughts have been that if I'm going to go and learn something, I'm going to want to go the completely complex route and go all out.
Which leads to Painter X. I find it more complex than Photoshop (since I've used Photoshop for like forever), but the customizability and features are...well, crazy.
And...well, I suck at all three programs. But those are at least my two cents worth.
