Recently someone who I will not name, told me they plan to use one of my character designs in a video game. They didn't ask me if it was alright, they just came to me and said 'I'm using it'.
Do not use any of my characters designs for any reason, in part or in whole. These are my own original designs that are not for public use. I will be visiting the copy right office in a few days to officially and legally copyright all my character. But until then I am still entitled to my intellectual property. Art is automatically copyrighted to its creator even without an official copyright.
If this behavior persists I will have to contact the site admins and block this person from viewing my art.
If it still persists after that I will have to remove my art from the Internet permanently and pursue legal action.
To the person who is putting me in this situation: if you force me to remove all my art you will be ruining this situation for a lot of people, all the ones who view my art and have come to enjoy it. I'm sure they will not be happy about this outcome.

..its shocking, it seriously is, when people begin doing this and thinking its ok. I'm also extremely iffy about posting most of my stories, plots, game ideas, and characters anywhere on the web because people seem to think that if its on the web its free game to use. I actually plan on copyrighting my Fursona soon, actually..
Anyway.. I really really hope you get this worked out. Its something that people need to learn to take more seriously.. just because its on the web and VIEWABLE by everyone doesn't mean its legal to take it as their own and use without permission.

I honestly don't know what this world is coming to when it comes down to stealing art from the starving artists! Its not even STEALing the art.. its stealing the artists creativity.. stealing the ARTISt. I mean, I don't know about you but, I think of my art as part of me.. it comes FROM me.. if someone were to steal it from me and claim it as their own they are stealing a piece of me and trying to say that its them.. its.. its just wrong on so many levels..

Someone about 6 months ago stole my ideas (txt format) to use as their own without giving credit... I removed my work off the net after that... But now I'm back, just with my lousey art, but still. I understand completely how you feel *hugs*.
I'd say you have a very legitimate case, especially if this image is still online somewhere, since it'll still be timestamped and such. But I'm not a lawyer, and common sense doesn't necessarily mean much in court. :p
I am wondering, though... are you going to continue to post your stuff privately, at least? I'd swear on my life I'd never repost anything of yours, much as I'd like to order a rather large print of some of them...
Oh, and regarding blocking a person, the functionality already exists. Just go to your profile settings page ( http://www.furaffinity.net/controls/profile/ ) and put this person on your block list. They'll no longer be able to view any of your work on the site. That should at least limit the risk of further damage from this sort of thing.
I was also thinking about posting my new stuff on a private livejournal entries so only my friends can see.
I've already blocked that guy (I found the blocking feature earlier) but it doesn't stop other people from doing it again in the future. I'm getting more popular quickly, and I keep hearing horror stories from really popular artists about how they have art stolen every day.
Your art rules and it would be really missed if you took it off. I hope they get what's coming to them!!!!
Art theft is a very serious issue. I suggest you report that little insect to the FA staff. And I understand you being ticked. I wouldn't just been ticked, I would've gotten throughly pissed off if someone stole my art or one of my Original Characters.
Whomever that guys thinks he is, he doesn't deserve to be allowed around here. I mean, taking someone's idea and using it without asking is both illegal and respectless to no bounds...
That's uncalled for if a FA user PM's you a message like that. Try repoting him to FA if he goes on.
Is this game just a little fan-piece that will likely never go anywhere other than 20 downloads of a few friends who were bored for 10 minutes, or is this a real rip where we're talking developers, publishers, and the whole nine yards? Did the person contact you here? If they did, I'd ask the mods to toss a ban on his ass ASAP if he's advertising that he's going to rip artists intellectual property. if it were me (and I'm a nasty person admittedly) I'd also get their name out ASAP so that other artists will be forewarned. A little bad publicity can do wonders for knocking the moxie out of people who think they can do whatever they want. ;)
He didn't say what kind of game it was but I'm almost certain it's a small time Internet game for him and his friends.
sue the fuck out of the company and him, have him fired and blackballed from any concept company.
