Embrace finality
I mean like,,,, ones with actual directing, a plot, some kind of relevance to the music, not this "guys and bitches doing crap moves with shit filming and dumb effects you'd expect to see on a mid stream rap album or the glitter gif shit"
I mean stuff like Missy Elliot vids,NIN,or stuff like that, music videos that are worth watching as much as they are worth listening to
if you can think of some link em

I think the reason for the lapse in good quality videos is due in part to...
Cost. I think the best era for music video's was during the 90's when people like Spike Jonze and John Glazer were on top of the game. You had hollywood quality production and effects. Nowaday it's too expensive to pull off so most go with CGI
Popularity. The music industry is more conservative than ever so it stays with the basic formula that combines outrageous partying and high defition slow-motion close ups a fake tits and ass. Sex sells.
and ugh, I like sex an all, but I don't like it having the world by the balls
Not only that but every once and awhile we get videos that are so sexually contreverisal it makes you want to puke. I still think the best example would be Christina Aguleras 'Dirty' Video. It's 'supposedly' a video about sexual liberation when all I see is some douchebag jocks and meatheads bascially fucking her through her underwear.
Being in charge of your sexuality is a completely different then being a skank hoe who has nothing better to give the world than her body.

I've not seen any good ones from big labels in a while.
Maybe it's an overall lack of interest in the art. Maybe something else. Dunno. The result is the same: shit videos.
Not normally a fan of hip-hop, but this is worth noting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfo-EGDBEAY

Best. Music Vid. EVAR! (sarcasm) this is probably one of the most retarded (and one of the most that i personally hate) to ever appear on my t.v. screen. Honestly what those directors think when they create their vids, most of 'em must be on crack.

I mean it's a fucking music video porno. B]
No, huh?
When was the last time you saw a film from Disney/Pixar that didn't make you want to check your brain for tumors? Sure Wall-E was good, but it still relied on too much humor to be that enjoyable for me. That's the problem with Disney films anymore, they're too kiddified and fart-joke-ridden to really be enjoyable. I'm really looking forward to "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" though.
But I digress.. Music videos these days, with a few minor exceptions, are too hyped up and over sexed (Brittany Spears' Toxic anybody?), even if the songs themselves aren't that bad.
Nickelback is one of the few bands that I'll watch the videos for, as well as Rob Thomas. But not too many others.
