I don't play on PVP realms to be honest. Battlegrounds are fun, because you're (somewhat) on level par with others. In a PVP realm? It can really suck, because...

You (Level 20 Mage): Yay! It's time to go into contested territory!

Some asshole (Level 80 anything, usually rogue): "Mmmm... squishy... *hits you with Ambush, one shot kills you*"

Said asshole will camp your corpse, meaning once you try to rez at the body, they'll just ROFLstomp you again.
