i'm sure your dog will be fine dude ^^ all 3 of the dogs ive had have stolen ribs and whatnot off plates from me and my family, and none of them had any problems getting the bones passed and whatnot. Just keep a watchful on him in case =3

I think it'll be fine. You should see the shit wild cats and dogs eat on a daily basis. I don't think a little rib bone is gonna take out a big dog.

At least it wasn't a cooked chicken bone. Those will splinter in their intestines. A rib bone should go through him fine. Here's hoping the best. :)

wow, and just the other day I told someone not to feed their small dog a chicken bone and then they had the nerve to get shitty with me and say "I think dogs can chew up a bone and swallow it"

Dogs are actually really good at pulling through odd things that they shouldn't. Both of my dogs have stolen chocolate something or anothers. Chocolate cupcake, solid chocolate Easter bunny... etc. Crazy dogs. Keep us updated though, and careful with the bones! Put 'em up higher or throw the trash outside the night you eat 'em. Dogs are sneaky brats. X3

Canines in general are usually quiet efficient in eating bones. I myself give my dog the left over pork chop bone every time I finish making one for dinner. Pork and beek bones are completely healthy for a dog, plus it gives them the added nutrition of the marrow inside.

Chicken or turkey bones are a no no because they're hallow and splinter inside once crushed. Beef and pork don't do that.

So I think lil Bowser will be fine, especially if he was crunching it down first.

Yeah but I'm also pretty sure he crunched the bone apart before swallowing...in which case it would already have sharp edges and such.

But either way he seems fine now.

Don't fret sweetie, yes its pricey to have things like this fixed, but I have a wonderful story with an experience just like this, our lab ate a rope toy and sticks.. causing a tangled blockage, that rubbed back and forth, causing a rip in his intestines, long story short, he had to have surgery, it cost a lot, and they even told me he had barely ANY chance of living... but I told them they couldn't let him go THAT easy, and yes...some money later, (I didn't care because I love him!) I have this big ole lug ALWAYS following me around now :3 and he couldn't be healthier! its not over until its over... so don't give up if they say "the chances of him living are slim" because a slim chance is still a chance... he has also gotten into the garbage and ate cooked chicken bones, and we gave him oiled food and bread, to make things slide easily and sure enough it helped :D I know this all sounds sort of sad because of the costing a lot, but this wasn't immediately after it happened, he didn't show us he was sick until the LAST moment which was days later which made us take him to the vet, you took your big guy right after the accident, if we had waited any longer he wouldn't have made it. So you guys caught it quick :3

Hey, I sure hope he'll be alright. We have a greyhound here at my house, but being vegetarian, that kind of stuff doesn't really happen.

My boyfriend has a dog, though, and I can't even imagine how many of those things he's probably eaten, and he's 15 now... so there's a good, good chance he'll be fine, hehe.
