I know you mean well with this comment but not only does it NOT help, but it certainly isn't true.

PLENTY of people manage to find and maintain long-lasting relationships that aren't abusive or complicated and it's cynical and defeatist to say things like that. Is it hard? Hell yes it is. But it IS worth it. The reward outweighs the pain of getting to it. Just takes a lot of perseverance, compromise, courage ... and a SHITLOAD of luck.

Glad you said all this so that I didn't have to. Was too depressed to try to argue with someone, but telling me I'm eternally doomed is the worst thing to hear when I've just been broken up with...

She used to love me, used to be perfect, not the same person at all anymore...and for some reason that hurts so much more than past relationships where I've been emotionally abused and such...this one was actually working beautifully before she suddenly became someone else.

So I don't know what to do in this sort of situation other than try to forget. Thanks for caring and all, though. *hug*

*nuzzles* The only thing I can think of was that she wasn't being herself to begin with and she couldn't upload the facade anymore. OR she cracked under the stress of life and took it out on the wrong person. It does seem ... odd ... and sudden, too. I'm so sorry you're going through this, hon. =(

It's occurred to me too that she was just faking it and wanting a temporary fling, knowing she would throw me off when she started lawschool...which hurts considering how good to her I was...

That would make her a VERY cruel person, if that's the case. Let's certainly hope not. =/

One of the first things she said to me though, upon school starting and her sudden coldness, was 'you knew I was going to be going to lawschool' as though she was expecting me to accept it as temporary...... -_-

Sounds like she's trying to make excuses. =/
