Playing for keeps !
recently i have decided that i wanted to get in shape instead of sitting at home doing nothing with most of my time. so i have set up a exercise schedule with a friend of mine. last Friday i texted him while i was at work asking him if he wanted to go exercise. theses were my exact words to him. "i feel obese today wanna go to the gym?". exact words i texted him and later on that day we found ourselves at the campus gym, walking into the fitness area. well i know why most people don't wanna try and work out, well it is at least a theory. the instant my friend and i walked in(Two scrawny guys) we got looks from all the weight lifters who were benching well over 200/250 with ease. we didn't exactly start lifting weights first, i asked my friend if he wanted to go on a run. he agreed and we jumped on the cardiovascular equipment that was located upstairs. now i have played 7 years of soccer so i walked my friend through some stretches before we should actually start running( luckily i did). so after the stretches we both jump on a machine and we run for a good 20 mins with some occasional walking in between the running. we jump off the machines and clean them for other people. i have never had so much trouble going down some stairs than that night. i was on the hand rails like my life depended on it, while we both walked down to the weights.
Now i have never lifted weight in my life, i was strictly cardiovascular and leg weights. never did anything with upper body. i had so much trouble lifting 90 lbs off the ground it was kinda embarrassing. then my friend said to add on more...meh i will go my own limits first and not push myself at first. so we lift weights for about 30 mins and we decide to head on back to shower and hang out with everyone else.
ever since Friday i have been having troubles putting on my shirts, hoodies and backpacks. all because of weak little arms that have never lifted weights before. i will hopefully be doing this every week at minimum.
