Yipes... I'm not against this sort of thing per se (I like my share of cub art), but the law certainly is. Unfortunately, they wouldn't understand if you tried to explain it like that. One of the ways that Furry seems to function is as sort of an interface or context for us furs to be able to access and express our own sexuality. Human porn for me is less than interesting, I don't even want to look at it (it doesn't help that the act seems to be almost intentionally jaded, too). However, certain of furry art, plushies, fursuits, and furry RP can definitely lift my... libido. ;o) I hope for your sake that this passes without attracting the attention of police or the media. *hug* The Church is hypocritical enough with regards to sex already that it doesn't need the help of an extraterrestrial coon.

I think that the fact that this happened on Second Life, which is currently limited to ages 18+, would be some protection, because I'd have reasonable reason to believe he was of age. By being on Second Life's main grid, he's lying about his age. Even when the teen grid is merged with the main grid at the end of the year, he'll be underage, unless he has a birthday before then.
Still, I'm not taking any more risk with him. Even if I'm investigated and they consider the SL age limits to be a suitable defense, it would make the news.
And yes, I find boys 7-15 yrs old sexually attractive(not by choice), but I prefer to keep that limited to fantasy only. Not that that's any less illegal, depending on where you live, but it's better-hidden. No witnesses, & one less computer involved.

My biggest fear with this is that if I break up with him over his age, he could turn me in. I doubt he'd do that, and I can get him banned from Second Life for being underage, but as young as he is it's hard to say how logical his thought process would be.

If SL has an 18+ age restriction, then he deliberately lied to get on. The burden of proof of age is on him, not you, as users should have the right to expect that most everyone is on there legally. I don't know how strictly the Lindens enforce this, but yes, regardless of how much you like him, he lied to you too. What else might he be lying about? Your trust in him has been broken, and about all I can say is to back away from him as gracefully as you can. Hopefully he won't try to blackmail you into doing more with him, lest he tell someone about what already happened. And hopefully you didn't react too badly when you found out, as that may make him a little more unpredictable as to what he might do. Minor laws exist for a reason, and granted they're not perfect... age and maturity are not always related. But there's enough evidence about how the brain ages that it makes the question of informed consent a valid one. I've been on IRC (Anthrochat/Furnet), and I've done my own share of TSing (or TinySex as they call it there). There was one time I did it with someone, and I found out later that he was 12. The thought of being found out scared me enough to not do anything with him again. If it somehow becomes known about what happened between you and him, you can truthfully say that he deceived you.

As to attraction to the underaged, and fantasy about it, there's different kinds of fantasy and legality. If you're having real life sex with a minor, that's definitely illegal (whether it's wrong or not is a different topic). If it's with the same minor online, it's at the least a grey area, and maybe probable cause. If you're pawing to furry cub art in your room, that's perfectly legal (thought isn't illegal). If you're pawing or being pawed by another fur of either gender to the same cub pic, and you're both of age, that's also legal.

Unfortunately, verifying someone's age online in a sexual situation is a crapshoot at best. The only way to know for sure is if you know the person in real life. Besides, real sex with another fur is a couple of orders of magnitude more fun anyway. ^-
