Dood I know exactly what you mean. This is why I don't commission artwork for my character except on a rare occasion. For one most people suck my dick at drawing pitbulls, and two some of the artists out there even when given an idea can't bring it to life. Thats why I like what Indigo does for instance, imaginative and creative and you guys rock!!

I find it weird that you're complaining about this. Come on, you can't really expect to think that every person you watch gets art to specifically cater to your needs and what you want to see. It's quite unfair to expect people to do that. Most of the time, people commission the kind of artwork THEY'D like to see for themselves. They hardly ever do it to satisfy other people's needs and they shouldn't have to. That's why they commission art in the first place; so that they can see what THEY would like to see, not other people.

You don't think its dull to go into someone's gallery to find that every picture is practically the same thing? And I'm sure that the artist gets bored of opening up for commissions then having to do 50 pinups of red foxes with different colored hair.

Personally, I want to expect a little more imagination of out people; isn't that what this whole furry business is about anyway?

Personally, I don't fucking CARE, dude. It's not my problem what people do or don't commission with their money. Seriously, how can you even think like that? If you don't like it, then STOP visiting that person's gallery. Never look again. People who commission art of whatever they want AREN'T here to please you, or me, or anyone else, at all. It's simple as that.

That's true, but again, why should you even be concerned with what OTHER people commission with their own money? Yes, you have every right to your opinion, but what exactly is the point of complaining about the art that OTHER people commission? You don't even have to look, no one's forcing you, dude. People who commission art are NOT here for you, they're not here for me, they're not here for anyone.

Well in the retrospect people post their commissions so people will look at them. THEY WANT people to look at them. If it was as simple as i just got this for myself. they would have it saved on a hard drive and kept to themselves. And they probably wouldnt pay upwards of hundreds of dollars to get someone to draw them because of the name that person has made for themselves in the fandom. And there probably wouldnt be as much drama surrounding commissions and the content of them.

And at this point its not even going to peoples galleries. Its just getting tired of coming to FA hoping to see something new and exciting and fresh. Liking to see how people brains are coming up with these fantistic worlds, and larger then life stories for their characters. only to find that ive forgotten all most people care about is penis penis and more penis. and thats just me. And this is my talking about it. But thats what you do in a journal. You talk. And im gonna keep talking about things that i want to talk about. So.... I mean.... Its really whatever.

Again, you have every right to say whatever you want in your journal, and whatever opinion you have. Definitely, I'm not arguing that. I just don't see the POINT of complaining about something like this. Yes, it's true that people post their commissions in their gallery, because they want other people to see those commissions, but these commissions are also what the COMMISSIONER wants. Period, nothing more, nothing less. They aren't here to cater to what YOU would like to see, or what I would like to see.

"Hey, I got these new commissions, check them out! Hope you like them! If you don't like them, well, that's okay, too." That's the basic mindset that almost every commissioner has. They shouldn't have to go out of their way to get something new and interesting just because you or I might be tired of seeing the same old thing in their gallery. Really, dude, if it bothers you THAT much, all you have to do is stop watching them. Period, it's that easy. There's nothing forcing you to look at the stuff they get, especially if it's the same stuff over and over again. All you have to do is stop watching them.

Really, dude, what other people commission with their money is all about what they want to see in their art. If that's the same thing over and over again, WHY should that matter to you, dude? It's about what the COMMISSIONER wants, not about what the watchers want. Doesn't work that way. Expecting anything otherwise is just being selfish, man.

Theres a difference in EXPECTING anything and WANTING something. I can hope and dream as much as i want. But i dont truly expect anyone to do this. Its like a fantasy of my own. Like i should COMMISSION all the furs of FA to COMMISSION something outside of what they normally get. I cant help my creative brain. and i do agree that its not my business. And thats exactly what commissioned art is. business.

Such ideas of creativity probably come more naturally to artists than the commissioners. It depends on who the commissioner is though.

it's quite the opposite situation for me, i hate when a commissioning artist draws 200 pieces of everyone's characters but in the same format. their gallery ends up feeling/looking like a selection of a vending machine. characterless and bland, no variation.

but going with what you're saying I tend to have little interest in members who don't draw for themselves or even try. sounds harsh but...yeah :D

When I get a commission eventually, or if I snag a free pic through one of those journal things, I just tell the artist to do what they want with me.
I think though I'd get a "candid" shot done.

I agree with your journal though. Seeing the same thing over and over does get boring.
