A note on notes...

Okay guys, I'm getting A LOT of notes lately from people that just say:
"Hi".
This is not instant messenger, guys. My notes inbox is already full of notes of important correspondence from my commissioners and lots of messages from friends and etc. on FA and they're starting to get drowned out by a bunch of messages that says nothing but "Hi" or stuff like *licks you*. I'm starting to get so many of these that it's time I set up a few rules for noting me.
I like to talk to people, and have no problem answering questions or talking a little. But if you send me a message that just says "hi", what do you expect me to do? Just say "hi" back? I don't treat the Note system as instant messenger. I understand that a lot of people want to start a conversation with me who have never spoken to me before and are probably pretty shy or nervous about it, but I promise that as long as you are polite and cordial, I will respond to you in a friendly manner. But you've gotta give me more than just "hi". Tell me why you're writing. Ask a question. Start an actual conversation.
Now, while we're on the subject of politeness, I am *NOT* a lifestyler. I DO NOT appreciate random notes from strangers saying things like *licks you* and *purrs and rubs on you*. Seriously, that is the quickest way to get me to ignore you, because then I think you are nothing more than a creeper. I'm not an animal, I don't wish I was an animal, and even if I were, I would probably bite the balls off a strange animal who came up to me and started licking me for no reason anyway, lol. So PLEASE, for the love of God, do not send me those kind of one-liners unless you want to end up on my instant-creeper list.

No punctuation, not even a smiley face or an exclamation point. And I keep getting these. It's like... what? Could you please give me a little more to work with here?

I understand how you feel about too much needless stuff in your inbox. But I also know what's it's like to want to say Hi! or be supportive of someone and not know what to say. So if you just get a smiley or single word comment from me, it is given from the heart, I'm just kinda shy at times and can't find the words.
I promise to not note you unless it's an actual letter though.

....but then, that'd be so bloody silly, it'd prolly be appreciated, rather than terrifying :D (Strudel is awesome, like that)

Just kidding. Yeah that can get really weird and annoying. I tend to not say much and just lurk your art and fave then lol. Meh, i don't have much to say anyways. you know me that well by now i hop =P
I don't get that shit either. Even shit like *hugs* from people who I haven't carried on more than a two sentence conversation with makes me raise an eyebrow...or suffer a small stroke.
