Computer Conundrum

Today my 5 year old computer decided while booting up that it didn't like me. What it has decided to do is basically fail to load windows properly, so I can't even run it in safe mode... I love it when technology fails me. Oh wait... No I don't! :/
Thankfully, unlike the last time my computer died, all my media (music, videos, games) are stored on an external hard drive, so if I am faced with having to reformat the thing, it won't be a complete loss.
Unfortunately I was right in the middle of completing a request for
VentKazemaru which wasn't saved on the external HD. Add to that the fact that it's my last term of high school and things aren't looking great.
I still have my netbook, but due to the small screen size and lack of power, I can't really do much with it.
Oh why does technology hate me so?
