Glad someone agrees. journal inspired my someone whining on another journal that it was bad for "free speech and debate"
The internet definition of "debate' usually degrades into namecalling and selfish egotistic "i'm right and you're wrong", and turns very easily into harassment.
Believe me, if someone was actually having a "debate" with you on FA, they aren't going to hide your comments.

figures :/ i like hide comments as a feature. pictures have been taken down only to erase a comment, which seems very inconvenient.

"free speech!" is being misused way too often. "i disagree" "omgz free speech!" ... it not a long way from calling someone a racist for telling telling them to behave.

Sounds like what happens at school around my area. some kid gets their phone taken up or gets suspension for misbehaving, and they claim racism. Luckily people at my school have more sense than that, and basically laugh at the brats that misuse "that's racist"!

I had to illustrate a scene from The Color of Water last year, and some chick in my Etymology class said it was racist for drawing a black dude jumping out of a window stealing liquor. She said "why does he have to be black?" *facepalm*

oh dear :/ .. why does he have to be white. Racism goes both ways, people tend to forget that. Is it just me or are those yelling out "racism" often racist themselves?

dude thats exactly what I believe. The people who cry "racism" are in fact, the racists themselves. Why else would they be so sensitive to perceived "differences" and "injustices"?
And also, if there WERENT differences, why are there different races? What most peope dont know is that it's not racist to say that black people have larger, say, noses then white people. It's a fact, and is a result of the evolution of man. black people originated form Africa, where the air is drier. the nose evolved to be larger to take it more moisture. White people have small noses because they evolved in the Caucasus mountains, where the air was extremely frigid and moist, so their noses got smaller.

Just the other day someone actually got a racist remark from a drunk. "racist bastard!" granted, he was "typically white people blabla wanna pick a fight you white f**ktards" suddenly all of us was the bad guys, even those helping them. When they was told to keep it down, it was just because we agreed with him. Just how is that smart? They were wronged, everybody agreed, yet they had to overplay it and make enemies out of everyone. I don't care that they're black or whatever, i just know they're being a bother, unreasonable and a bunch of jerks, thus i don't like them. As the annoying human beings they were.

All we have in common is being human. We all apply to the same laws, rights and rules. Or well ... in theory at least. If people would just accept that.

And accept the new feature.

I didn't even notice it till I read this journal. Its just another feature that FA has that DA has had for years.
Honestly I like it, it's a good way to cut down trolling.

Me either, i don't make journals often. I don't get harassed much, but the feature's great for people who have the unfortunate circumstance of being targeted.

One other person I'm watching was doing a G rated comic on here and had some problems with jerks coming in and making really obscene jokes about the characters. She ended up having to repost one of the pages twice because of them, so I guess the feature coulda saved her then. XD

Definitely. and I hate to see people have to delete submissions. They shouldnt have to, for one, and it ruins someone's favorites gallery. That's why I use the FA Extender and download every favorite i make.
