Art direction

I know everyone has different tastes and you can't accommodate to everyone, but I am thinking maybe I am not as popular as some because I am all over the place as far as style. I am wondering if I should start leaning toward cartoony or keep fighting the uphill battle of more realistic art. any input is welcome on what art styles people like and what you like in my art and what may be a good change.
Now maybe it is your goal to be broadly popular. That's OK. But if that's the case I would recommend looking into art training. These kinds of programs can train you to draw and color in the illustration styles that centuries of study have found to have a broad aesthetic appeal.
That doesn't have to be expensive art college. You could train yourself from books and find other artists in your community. Possibly find a community center that has art classes and connect with other artists who create as a hobby.
I'd just like to summarize by re-emphasizing that this is a hobby, right? So take it in the direction you want it to go. And if you don't know that's OK, it just means that you're still exploring and discovering.
