OK SL is totally fre based to play but to do much of anything like obtaining a AV or Avatar you will need what is called LIndens which is a in game currency that you can purchase for said amount of USD or what ever your currency is. Now I do know abit back 5,000 Lindens ran up to equal $20.00 USD. SO if you think about it most every Avatar you will buy will cost less then about 10 USD each, then of course you will need clothing, jewery if you desire, effects like tongue rings nipple rings and so forth. If you really wish to stand out then you could commission a Avatar maker but be prepared to pay out the waazoo for them as I have ran into Av makers charging at like 300,000 Lindens or up to 3-400 USD. Other then that you hang out chat play games make stuff, sex up people or be sexed up be silly or serious and so on. Second Life is a large chat system game where you can be who or what ever you wish to be and even have a home if you buy the land and make the home or buy a home and place it on your land. Using SL can be abit annoying at first but in time the controls become alittle easier to use and so forth. As your coming in late to the SL world you have more or less downloaded the old SL veiwer like Veiwer 2 or the older then that. I would say trying using Phoenix or one of the other SL clients that are out there, though I do not know them all. I do hope this helps alittle in your adventure that is SL.

Well you would need to go into the club and as you enter the front door to the right look for a large board then look to the right on that on the wall and you should see a DJ wanted and Dancer wanted picture. Click on that and a application will be handed to you. Once you get the application read it carefully and turn it into the person that it tells you to turn it into and tada you have applied for a SL job.

you don't 'need' to but age verification helps.
