Leave me be, please. Not only is this harassment and illegal, it's just fucking stupid. Over 10 people calling me a cunt doesn't make you right, and just leave me the hell alone already.
The lowdown on my artform
Hey everyone, i know alot of people have concerns regarding my form of taxidermy.
First off i want to say i respect everyone's opinions on the fur subject. However anything you say will not change my mind about what i do. I have done alot of research and i know exactly where my pelts come from. NONE of my furs come from china. (that's where most of those PETA videos are filmed of the poor raccoon dogs and such.) The Chinese have a different standard and don't believe animals feel pain like we do.
Where do i get my pelts?
Most of my pelts are garment rejects or animals that have died of natural causes. Some may have been hunted or trapped, But customers always know of this before they buy. Coyotes in some states are pests to farmers. I know this from experience. Coyotes kept eating our chickens because they had eaten all the rabbits and other animals in the area. They Eat everything and then turn to our pets and livestock. So thinning out the numbers so that they can continue to live in harmony with us is actually a good thing. it keeps the population of all the animals happy. Coyotes aren't even a native species in alot of the US. They have thrived on human garbage and are now in all 48 states. 100 years ago it was about half that. Wolves disappeared in alot of the areas the coyotes are now populating and taking over.
Legalities
Everything i do is also LEGAL. Foxes and coyote pelts are legal to own in every state except mass... (as far as i know). Other animals you would have to ask and i can find out. Wolves are also legal in every state except PA. Bears are very iffy and have lots of regulations. I have a list of all the states and where they are legal tho.
My experience
I have been doing taxidermy now for 2 years. I have also traveled and worked with a full time taxidermist in Nebraska for 4 months, (i only stopped working there because i had gotten to many plush orders and did not have time for them). I know the ins and outs of taxidermy from skinning to tanning to restoring an old mount. I can do my "plush work" Or do some actual taxidermy. if you have a trophy you want me to do you can ship it with dry ice and i can mount it for you :) Or if you just want a mount i can supply the hide.

i'm sticking up for you. >____>
I'm pretty glad you're not getting all insainely defensive. seems to be that a majoriy of internet users do when people critisize, or disagree with what someone does.
You take, what would otherwise be tossed in a pit in the ground, or left to rot, and turn it into something beautiful. GOOD FOR YOU. you have skill
"
People are going to hunt whether you like it or not. And a lot of the time, hired taxidermists aren't even the ones who killed the things they worked on. It's a form of art, sculpture, if you would, with animal fur. The hunters kill the animal, take the meat, but then, what to do with the fur? throw it out? no, what's the point in that? might as well do something creative with it.
I am not a fan of hunting.. at all. I hate it, to be honest. But I eat meat, so I'm not going to be hypocritical by saying its morally wrong. Not to mention, taxidermy, which often times doesn't even involve hunting from the artists part, IS just another form of art. It's like making a stuffed animal, but with real animal. Or making a sculpture but with biological product. It's hardly any different than cutting down a tree, which is also a living being, and carving a sculpture from it.
What about leather coats, shoes or wallets? Technically speaking that is taxidermy. OR, how about down comforters or pillows; made from goose feathers? Or how about the torn up pieces of tree used to make the place you live? Every normal dwelling is made with trees?
Unless you are 100% vegan who wears hemp clothes, which means absolutely no leather, wool, silk, fur, or feathers, and eats nothing but soybeans, nuts, rice and lentils, I don't see how anyone can freak out this much over taxidermy. "
Just wanted to let you know I do admire your work. And though I'm against hunting; I understand that you consider your work art, and love animals; so I see nothing wrong with that :)
by the way? ever do a taxidermy snake?
Kinda like peta :/
People need to open their minds to knew things. The 'stuff' humans too I dont know if shes aware of that fact .
This person has 0% knowledge of what the process of mounting animals involves.
Chances are they have leather car seats, too :)
I would not be surprised if she owns leather. Whether it's a pair of boots, fur-trimmed winter coat, or even a book binding, I've usually found, to my great amusement, that the people who rant and rave like that are the ones who buy things like that without a second thought...like many diehard PETA supporters.
told me you need meat to live.
This hole thing has given me a great lol
ive been defending leapordpaws.
tis fun.
if you're going to be ignorant and rude to someone about what they do for a living, back off because you'll taste the fire XD
Yes I have leather in my god damn house, I eat fucking meat, etc. that isn't my point. A house decoration is completely superficial and means nothing. I have a leather trench coat my mother gave me and two leather cuffs, one my Master gave me, and they both mean something to me, especially the cuff. My point is nobody will care about a wall decoration, not truly. Using an animal's dead remains as if it were a table or a piece of decorative plastic is what fucking bothers me, but if people are using an animal's skin for clothing they need to keep warm or meat they need to eat to stay alive is fine with me, and if they used it as a gift to someone, such and my coat and cuff, I don't really mind so long as the person really appreciates it and actually thinks about the animal that died for it too and cares about that too. Just as a fur coat some bitch uses to make herself look better and doesn't really care about it or the animal, or as a house decoration, that is fucking wrong.
Now will you and all of leopardpaw's friends leave me the fuck alone already? You all need to grow the fuck up. Death is not superficial and you all are treating it that way. I'm talking about the animal, not how much work it took to stuff the poor thing's fucking remains.
Aka "I don't like when people use animals remains as objects not needed for survival/warmth/food. But.... wait... my leather cuffs are made from dead cows.... OK NVM CUFFS ARE FINE BECAUSE I LIKE THEM"
She's just a child.
I get it now ;)
