Something that has been bothering for some time

Sometimes I get sudden thoughts that quite frankly disturb me. Most of these thoughts I just let them stir in my mind until they just die. Others, I just need to say them out loud.
Recently I have been wondering about certain franchises that should have just died out.
Amongst those franchises is Sonic. I remember when i was a kid that Sonic was big back in those days, outside of Malta. In Malta I don't remember Sonic being that popular. In fact, the only time i discovered that Sonic existed was when I was about 10 or 11 when i was reading either the Beano or the Dandy.
I never quite got the popularity behind Sonic. He's fast, he's got attitude, so? Quite frankly the whole speed thing never rubbed me the right way. As for his attitude? I hate his grin, every time i see it i just want to grab Sonic by his throat and strangle him till he's any other color than blue.
Don't get me started about his supporting cast. Am i the only one who thinks that Amy's obsession with Sonic is some sort of straw man version of Sonic fan-girls? Seriously, she's worse than Superboy Prime. Also why does Knuckles keep the giant emerald right in the middle of an open topped temple and not in some deep under ground catacomb maze? At least then Eggman would have to invent a drilling machine to get to it and not fly over it and grab it.
Also why did they change the villian's name to Eggman? Robotnik sounded fun. Ok it sounded stupid, but it would have been better than freaking EGGMAN.
And Cream....oh sweet Christ on a pogo stick. Whose idea was it to include her? She's irritating and useless. Why Create a character whose only purpose is to be cute and innocent.
As for Shadow....he's similar to Amy, the only difference is that where Amy is a straw-man version of fan-girls, Shadow is an emo (referring to his never ending quest for MARIAAAAAA).

Also Silver is a serious dumbass. Psyhic powers have never proven effective against strength...especially in Warhammer 40,000. Now magic, that's a different subject!
Also tails and eggman have a serious rivality in terms of tecnology and enginnery, both are genius, but they compete to see who is the best on it
Unlike sonic where he always saves the day and turns super saiyan with 7 emeralds pfff
Come to think of it, a game where Tails tries to out-tech RobotniK (i refuse to use the name Eggman) would be very interesting. If the company create an rpg where Miles uses his knowledge to create weaponry against Robotnik would probably a neat concept.
Then again Sonic Team's incompetence in the recent games would probably screw the concept like a prison bitch....
(Seriously now You just need to wait and they will find a way to fuse sopnic with shadow in the next games, just like sonic unleashed)
